kata yaitu:
‘Descriptive’ yang
artinya gambaran
dan ‘Text’ yang
berarti tulisan.
Jadi yang dimaksud
dengan
Descriptive Text
adalah karya tulis
atau tulisan yang
menggambarkan
sesuatu.
Poin-poin yang dibahas
dalam Descriptive Text :
1. Text memberikan informasi tentang
bagaimana sesuatu atau seseorang terlihat ,
suara , dengan menggunakan kata-kata
untuk menggambarkan sesuatu atau
seseorang seperti apa.
2. Text yang memberikan fakta-fakta tentang
bagaimana bahasa benar-benar digunakan
daripada aturan yang memberitahu orang
bagaimana sesuatunya digunakan.
Ciri-Ciri Descriptive
Text :
a. Descriptive Text menggunakan attribute verb, seperti be (am, is, are)
b. Descriptive Text menggunakan simple present tense
c. Descriptive Text hanya fokus pada satu objek tersebut.
d. Descriptive Text menggunakan kata sifat atau adjective
e. Descriptive Text menggunakan bahasa yang menarik

Taylor Swift
Taylor Alison Swift or more popular with Taylor Swift
was born in Pennsylvania, USA at 13 December
1989. She is a music country singer. She is also my
inspiration and role model.
Taylor Swift is very beautiful. She is tall and her skin
is white, her eyes is blue. Her nose is sharp, she has
curly hair, and its color is blond. Taylor has taught
me to always fight for our dreams no matter what,
to know that if I’m different that’s a good thing and I
don’t have to change that, to be myself, to never
give up on my dreams.
Contoh Descriptive Text (place /tempat)
Bali Island
Bali island is famous place in Indonesia.
Many tourist from other country like from
America, Europe and Asia go to Bali to spend
their holiday and to refresh after one month
work in their company. The Bali Island capital
is in Denpasar.
In Bali Island we can see many beautiful
places. Bali also famous with beautiful
beach, Kuta beach. It famous with white
sand and beautiful sunset.
Contoh Descriptive Text (Animal/hewan)
My Cat
I have a pet cat. It’s name is Winkie. It’s
white and grey in color. It has lovely green
eyes. It is very soft and furry. It eats fish and
drinks milk. It plays with me when I come
back from school. It likes to play with ball in
the garden. It loves me and shows it’s love
by licking me when I come back from
school. It sleeps in a small basket near my
bed. I love my pet very much and take care
of it.
Contoh Descriptive Text (Thing / Benda)
My Laptop My father buys a laptop for me. I am very
happy, because I can write my homework at
home. The color of my laptop is black. The
border of the screen is made of black plastic.
There is a web cam planted in the screen
framework, it is located at the top-middle
side of the screen. The screen is 14 inch
wide. The screen and its skeleton thickness is
about 0.8 centimeters. The thickness of the
body is about 2.2 centimeters, so when we
combine the thickness of the screen and the
body, the overall thickness of my laptop is
about 3 centimeters. So you can imagine
now that my laptop is thick and heavy.
