Edc Lab

The document presents a project on verifying the frequency response of an emitter follower circuit, a common collector amplifier used as a voltage buffer. It outlines the components, equipment required, procedure for testing, observations, and applications of the circuit. The conclusion confirms the successful verification of the frequency response and the plotting of gain versus frequency.

INTRODUCTION:

• In electronics common collector amplifier is also known as emitter

follower is one of basic single stage bipolar junction
transistor(BJT)amplifier topologies,typically used as a voltage
buffer.
• Frequency response: It is the change in gain or phase over a
specified range of input signal frequency.
Components required

Transistor BC 107 1

resistors 10kohms,33kohms,8.2kohms, 1
2.2kohms
capacitors 10µf 2
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

• Bread board -1
• CRO -1
• Function generator-1
• Connecting wires
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
PROCEDURE
• Connect the circuit as the circuit diagram.
• Set the source voltage Vs=50mv at 1KHz frequency using function
generator.
• Keeping the input voltage constant vary the frequency from 50Hz to
1mHz in regular steps and make notte down the corresponding output
voltages in tabular column.
• Plot the graph between gain(dB) vs frequency.
• Calculate the bandwidth from graph
bandwidth=higher cutoff frequency-lower cutoff frequency
OBSERVATION:

MODEL GRAPH:
APPLICATIONS
•This amplifier is used as an impedance matching circuit.
•It is used as a switching circuit.
•The high current gain combined with near-unity voltage
gain makes this circuit a great voltage buffer.
•It is also used for circuit isolation.
CONCLUSION

• Hence frequency response of common collector

amplifier is verified ,and plotted the maximum
current gain from graph and plotted the grah
between the frequency and gain in dB .
