hardware or software that allows the access, storage,
transmission and manipulation of information.
-In terms of Hardware, ICT specifically encompasses
What is it?
radio, television, communication devices (smart and
non-smart phones), desktops computers, laptops and
network hardware and technologies.
-ICT is also comprised of software, applications and
platforms that allows information to be accessed,
stored, transmitted and manipulated.
ICT in the Philippines
-Philippines is dubbed as the “ICT Hub of Asia”
What is it?
because of the huge growth of ICT-related jobs
around the country.
Ex. Call Center or BPO.
-In 2013, according to International Telecommunication Union
in an edition of Measuring Information Society, there are 106.8
cellphones per 100 Filipinos in the year 2012.

Trends or Current State of ICT
1) Convergence– This means combining different
devices into one. It is about what a device can do
(many functions in one).
2) Social Media – These are apps or websites that let
people connect and talk to each other online. Social
What is it? media helps people share information quickly with
many others.
3) Mobile Technologies – These are devices that you
can carry easily, like smartphones and tablets.
It is about where you can use the device (anywhere,
because it's portable).
HTTP
HTTP stands for HyperText Transfer
Protocol.
It is the system or set of rules that

or Safari) to communicate with
websites and load web pages from the
internet.
World Wide Web
- commonly referred to as WWW, W3, or
simply the Web is an interconnected
system of public webpages accessible

WEB 3.0
2.0
What is it? Web 3.0 is a concept describing how the web will evolve. The keyword for
Web 3.0 is “Executable”, which refers to the web's capability to accept a user
request and automatically execute a solution or provide a suggestion by
considering the user’s behavioral data. For example, in the diagram, the user
might request a restaurant suggestion on their phone. Based on the current
time, the user’s past restaurant preferences, and seat availability from various
online reservation platforms, the device will suggest suitable options. If
requested, it could even reserve a table on behalf of the user. Web 3.0 is not
yet fully realized and is still under development. Its complete form may
continue to evolve over time.
