The much-hyped 27th season premiere of South Park brought in a big audience for Comedy Central and Paramount+. In the three days after its July 23 premiere, the episode gathered 5.9 million cross-platform viewers, including on-air replays. Gilded Age Renewed
HBO has renewed The Gilded Age, from creator Julian Fellowes, for a fourth season. The series has seen its ratings grow this season, starting with its best premiere to date. The July 20 episode drew a series-high 4 million cross-platform viewers in its first three days, beating the previous record of 3.8 million for the previous week. The show’s viewer figures are running 20 percent ahead of season two. Full story.
↑ Love Island USA couldn’t make it four straight weeks of series-high viewing levels, but the Peacock dating show still turned in a very strong 1.7 billion viewing minutes.

Netflix moved up to third place in Nielsen’s rankings of TV distributors in June, its highest place to date. The streamer accounted for 8.3 percent of all TV use in the United States, behind YouTube (12.8 percent) — which led the way for a fifth consecutive month — and Disney (10 percent). Netflix moved ahead of NBCUniversal (7.8 percent) and Paramount (7.2 percent), both of which declined a little from May’s distributor gauge.

Fire and Ash, James Cameron’s follow-up to The Way of Water, teases a spectacular epic that includes volcano fights, family tragedy and intense action. The 20th Century Studios sequel hits theaters Dec. 19.
Bluey has kept its hold on the top of the U.S. streaming rankings for the first half of the year. Nielsen figures for January to June show the series has amassed 25.06 billion minutes of viewing this year — which puts it on a similar pace to last year’s total of 55.62 billion minutes. Bluey has appeared in Nielsen’s streaming ratings (either the overall list or the top 10 acquired series) for 143 straight weeks, dating back to October 2022.

A Fox News Summer
Fox News Channel is regularly the most watched cable network in primetime, but since the start of summer it has also led the broadcast networks as well. Fox News averaged 2.55 million primetime viewers from June 20-July 27, beating out ABC (2.34 million) for the overall lead on linear TV. It also holds the lead for the month of July, averaging 2.41 million viewers for a lead of 260,000 viewers over NBC (2.15 million). Just among cable news outlets, Fox’s July average was more than the combined totals for MSNBC (865,000) and CNN (497,000).
