Kansas, known as the ‘Wheat State’ or the ‘breadbasket’ of the nation, produces more wheat than any other state in the US. It is located in the midwest of the country bordering Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma and Colorado and its capital is Topeka. In addition to agriculture, its economy is also largely influenced by the aerospace industry and a number of aircraft corporations have manufacturing facilities in Kansas City and Wichita. It is one of the most socially conservative states in the nation and has not voted for a Democrat since Lyndon B Johnson in 1964.
