This is the first public release of the .NET Extension Pack and .NET Coding Pack.
The .NET Extension Pack is OSS. The .NET Coding pack is closed-source.
The .NET Extension Pack has some broader use beyond education, but it is used as the primary way to make sure the right .NET extensions are installed for users in education.
The .NET Coding Pack is an installer meant only for people using .NET in education with VSCode as their primary tool to edit files. It ensures VSCode, the .NET SDK, and the right extensions (via the .NET Extension pack) are installed in a non-elevated location to support education scenarios.
