Resolves #8164.
It looks like the optimizations to
provideSomeare not working on Scala 3.3.0. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the underlying unsoundness of the implementation or the Scala compiler itself but given the importance of this functionality I think we need to get back to a point where things are working and go from there.
