The Mirage Challenge League

  • Take on a rogue sect of the Faridun as they sap the energies of captured Djinn for nefarious ends, and help a legendary Maraketh Sekhema put an end to an ancient war once and for all.
  • The Afarud, the most depraved and twisted of the Faridun, have formed a pact with Saresh, a powerful necromancer who built an army of undead to seek revenge on the Maraketh.
  • Deny their twisted efforts towards dominion by joining forces with Varashta and freeing the spirits of Djinn before the Afarud can accomplish their goals.
  • You will encounter the physical form of trapped Djinn, imprisoned and tortured by Afarud Warlocks. After successfully defeating them, you will be asked by Varashta to enter The Astral Realm, a Mirage containing an imperfect copy of the world around you.
  • Varashta can augment the magic of the Mirage she allows you to enter, giving you the option to choose one of three Wishes before you do so. These Wishes modify the Mirage in powerful and potent ways, transforming the copy within and causing monsters slain to drop powerful loot, currency for enhancing your equipment and gems, special caches, or even strange mysterious coins.
  • Fight your way through the monsters, astral hazards, and Afarud mages to the tether holding the Djinn. Shatter this chain to free the Djinn, step by step weaking whatever dark plans the Afarud may have for Wraeclast.
  • With 3.28.0, there are Standard, Hardcore and Solo Self-Found variations of the Mirage challenge league available. They have the same core mechanics and items. You can create private league versions of these leagues, with mods that make the game harder.
  • The Hardcore variations of Mirage are parented to their Standard Mirage equivalent, meaning if you die in Hardcore Mirage you can continue on in Standard Mirage League.
  • The new Mirage challenge league includes a set of 40 new challenges, and 8 new challenges in Ruthless Mirage. Earn pieces of the Orb Regalia Armour Set when you complete 12, 20, 28 and 36 challenges in Mirage, or 2, 4, 6 and 8 challenges in Ruthless Mirage. These challenge rewards are only obtainable in this league.
  • From the 19th challenge onwards and for every third challenge after that, you will receive pieces of the Mirage Totem Pole decoration to display in your hideout. The Totem Pole permanently showcases how many of the Mirage challenges you completed during the league.

New Content and Features

  • Added the new Reliquarian Ascendancy Class for the Scion. Notable Passive Skills for the Reliquarian borrow from the powers of Unique items found throughout Wraeclast, and will change with each League. For this reason, these Notables will not be available as outcomes for the Forbidden Flame and Forbidden Flesh Unique Jewels.
  • Introduced Exceptional Support Gems, a new and improved version of Awakened Support Gems, which are being phased out. There are over 40 Exceptional Support Gems, which can be found in the Endgame.
  • Introduced the Coin of Knowledge, which Corrupts a level 20 Skill Gem, Imbuing it with a random valid Intelligence Support effect.
  • Introduced the Coin of Power, which Corrupts a level 20 Skill Gem, Imbuing it with a random valid Strength Support effect.
  • Introduced the Coin of Skill, which Corrupts a level 20 Skill Gem, Imbuing it with a random valid Dexterity Support effect.
  • Added a new Strength/Intelligence Skill Gem, Divine Blast: Project a beam of holy light from your shield to a targeted location, causing an implosion of holy energy. This energy then lingers for a short duration, before blasting outwards in a larger and more damaging explosion.
  • Added a new Strength/Intelligence Skill Gem, Holy Hammers: Slam the ground ahead of you, calling down a Holy Hammer from above. On hitting an enemy, another Hammer will cascade forward, repeating if further enemies are hit, up to a cap. A Power Charge can be expended to call down additional Hammers to either side of the initial slam. Requires a Mace or Staff.
  • Added a new Strength/Intelligence Skill Gem, Holy Strike: Infuse your weapon with holy energy and swing. Successfully hitting an enemy will summon forth a Holy Armament, which copies your main hand weapon stats to determine its own. These Holy Armaments are undamageable minions, and will attack the enemies you target with Holy Strike. Requires a Mace, Sceptre or Staff.
  • Added a new Strength/Intelligence Skill Gem, Shield of Light: Retaliate against a blocked hit with a sweep of your Shield, unleashing a wave of light in a cone in front of you. Additional waves also emanate from allies in a radius around the first target struck, towards that target.
  • Added a new Strength Transfigured Skill Gem, Shockwave Totem of Authority: Summons a totem that shakes the earth around you, damaging enemies.
  • Added a new Strength/Intelligence Transfigured Skill Gem, Static Strike of Gathering Lightning: Attack with a melee weapon, gaining a Gathering Lightning buff for a duration if you hit an enemy. While you have Gathering Lightning, attacks with this skill will cause chaining beams of lightning, which chain farther the more Gathering Lightning you have.
  • Added a new Dexterity Transfigured Skill Gem, Charged Dash of Projection: Channel to project an illusion which you steer. You gain stages while it moves, until it stops at a maximum total distance. Waves of area damage frequently pulse along its path, based on your attack speed. Stop channelling to release the illusion, dealing a final wave of damage. Requires a Melee Weapon.
  • Added a new Dexterity/Intelligence Transfigured Skill Gem, Flamethrower Trap of Stability: Throws a trap that releases a number of flames in different directions around it when triggered. The flames last for a duration repeatedly dealing damage.
  • Added a new Intelligence Transfigured Skill Gem, Kinetic Fusillade of Detonation: Wave your wand to create multiple hovering kinetic projectiles. After a short duration, the projectiles explode, dealing area damage. Using this attack again will reset the duration for all hovering projectiles. Cannot be directly used by traps or mines.
  • Added a new Intelligence Transfigured Skill Gem, Orb of Storms of Squalls: Creates an electrical orb that will strike enemies in its area of effect with beams of lightning when placed, as well as when you use a lightning skill while within its area. These beams of lightning can then split to hit more enemies. When striking enemies, this orb will teleport to a random enemy struck. Casting this skill again will replace the previous orb.
  • Added a new Intelligence Transfigured Skill Gem, Shock Nova of Procession: Casts a ring of Lightning around you, followed by a larger Lightning nova. Each effect hits enemies caught in their area with Lightning Damage. This then repeats, with each repeat offset from the previous in the direction of your target.
  • Added a new Intelligence/Strength Transfigured Skill Gem, Storm Burst of Repulsion: Unleash orbs of energy while you channel that repeatedly jump away from the targeted location until their duration expires, dealing damage in a small area after each jump. When you stop channelling, all remaining orbs explode, dealing higher damage in a larger area.
  • Added a new Intelligence/Dexterity Transfigured Skill Gem, Siphoning Trap of Pain: Throws a trap that applies debuff beams to a number of nearby enemies for a duration. The beams chill enemies and deal cold damage over time.
  • Added a new Strength/Intelligence Support Gem, Blessed Call Support: Supports Warcry skills, causing them to create Consecrated Ground. Supported Warcries have lowered Area of Effect and Cooldown Recovery Rate. Cannot support triggered Warcries.
  • Added a new Strength/Intelligence Support Gem, Excommunicate: Supports melee attacks, causing them to gain a percentage of physical damage as extra fire and lightning damage, and excommunicate enemies on melee hit. Does not modify skills used by minions.
  • Added a new Intelligence Support Gem, Exemplar Support: Supports Minion skills, causing your minions to have increased Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Multiplier for each of your own recent Critical Strikes.
  • Added a new Strength/Intelligence Support Gem, Hallow: Supports melee attacks you use yourself, causing them to inflict Hallowing Flame on melee hit. Does not modify skills used by minions.
  • Added 10 new Runegrafts that can be found by shipping to ports in Kingsmarch: Runegraft of the Agile, Runegraft of Connection, Runegraft of Consecration, Runegraft of Fury, Runegraft of the Imbued, Runegraft of Rallying, Runegraft of Resurgence, Runegraft of Rotblood, Runegraft of the Spellbound, and Runegraft of Suffering.

  • Continued to incrementally improve the sound, art, effects and environments.

Endgame Changes

  • Extensive changes have been made to the Atlas and how you engage with Maps, without interfering with the beloved core experience. Some of the more frustrating aspects have also been streamlined or removed.
  • Map items are no longer associated with a specific Map Area. As an example, instead of having a Tier 10 Mesa Map, you will now find a Tier 10 Map. To open a Mesa Map, you now locate and select Mesa on your Atlas, put in your Map item, and activate the Map Device.
  • That Mesa Map may drop a Tier 11 Map. You can then place this into your Map Device, which defaults to the last Map run, and either run Mesa again or choose a new Map Area to use it on.
  • The structure of the Atlas has also changed, you now begin your exploration at the centre of the Atlas, with each corner housing one of four Voidstone slots.
  • All content accessed using the Map Device is now physically present on the Atlas, allowing you to see everything available in the Endgame as you reveal the fog of war.
  • All Unique Maps are now present on the Atlas, including some old favourites that are appearing for the first time.
  • You now gain 1 Atlas Skill Point per Unique Map completed on your Atlas, up to a maximum of 10. There are around 20 Unique Maps available, so you only need to complete the half you want (not looking at you, Hall of Grandmasters).
  • The remaining Atlas Skill Points have been moved to other places, and you can now get more total Atlas Skill Points than before.
  • Eagon now has a new goal and is determined to stop Zana traversing the threads that weave the Atlas together and severing them. He has made use of a new mysterious discovery, Arcane Astrolabes, but by using them to trace her movement they cause dangerous side effects.
  • Using an Astrolabe on a Map on the Atlas manifests a Shaped Region in that quadrant of the Atlas, affecting many of the Maps within it. There are many types of Astrolabes, and they apply different types of Shaped Regions.
  • Completing the content added by the Astrolabe will remove the Shaped Region's influence from that Map. Upon doing so, every other Map remaining in the Shaped Region will gain an additional modifier.
  • Once you have successfully rid the Atlas of the Shaped Region, Eagon will take you to one of the four Memory Vaults, where there are powerful rewards to be had.
  • Each Vault is associated with a specific quadrant on the Atlas, so you're able to target a certain vault if you're wanting to try to get a specific type of reward.
  • Interacting with the Map Device now opens the Atlas screen. Clicking locations on the Atlas will allow you to use a Map (and any fragments) to open portals to that specific location.
  • Certain locations will require special map items to access, such as Unique Maps, Shaper Guardian Maps, Nightmare Maps, Vaal Temple and locations requiring Map Fragments rather than Map Items.
  • As you can now run any Map with a Map Item, the Favoured Map system has been removed.
  • Memory Skills have been removed from Originator Influenced areas. You can still collect Petals in these areas, which now instead grant a higher chance to find items with Memory Strands.
  • Several of the effects from the removed Memory Skills have been moved to new bonus modifiers on Altars at the end of Maps within Memory Threads. For example, Killing a Rare Monster consumes 30 Petals if possible to revive the Monster once.
  • The Decayed Voidstone is now obtained from killing both the Shaper and the Elder. It can also still be obtained from defeating Uber Elder.
  • You now receive a Voidstone from killing both the Searing Exarch and the Eater of Worlds (instead of one from each).
  • The extra Voidstone that this leaves is now obtained from killing the Incarnation of Dread.
  • Introduced the Memory of Loneliness, which adds a Memory Thread to a quadrant of the Atlas leading to the Incarnation of Neglect.
  • Introduced the Memory of Trauma, which adds a Memory Thread to a quadrant of the Atlas leading to the Incarnation of Fear.
  • Introduced the Memory of Reverence, which adds a Memory Thread to a quadrant of the Atlas leading to the Incarnation of Dread.
  • The Threads of the Originator Quest line now awards a skill book granting 2 Atlas Passive Skill Points and 2 Atlas Passive Respec Points for defeating each Incarnation boss.
  • Tier 17 Maps have undergone significant changes, and are now Nightmare Maps.
  • Completing each Nightmare Map now awards 1 Atlas Skill Points (5 total).
  • Slightly increased the reward values of Originator-influenced and Nightmare Map modifiers that granted Increased Pack Size or Item Rarity.
  • Slightly reduced the reward values of Originator-influenced and Nightmare Map modifiers that granted More Currency, Maps or Scarabs.
  • After obtaining the Voidstone from killing the Incarnation of Dread, items with Memory Strands will now be able to drop from all maps ran on the atlas. More Memory Strand affected items will still come from Originator maps, to retain them being the best source.
  • Items that drop with Memory Strands will now more often be higher tier bases.
  • Items that drop with Memory Strands will have more Memory Strands on average.
  • Memory Strands will have a larger influence on the tier of Modifiers present on the item than previously.
  • Atlas Bonus Objectives now additionally grant +1% to Map Item Quantity for every 4 Bonus Objectives completed.
  • Uber Bosses now only require 4 Fragments to access (previously 5).
  • All Maven Invitations are now accessed through Kirac, rather than some of them being quest items you place into your Map Device.
  • Sacrifice and Mortal Fragments can no longer be used in a Map Device to open a random Vaal Side Area directly. Instead, they can be used alongside Maps to add a Vaal Side Area to the opened Map, while still applying their current Map Item Quantity bonus.
  • Sacrifice and Mortal Fragments now explicitly state the Map Item Quantity bonus they apply to areas.
  • Elder Guardian, Shaper Guardian and Conqueror Maps always generate on Tier 16 Maps. As a result, Divination Cards for these items no longer explicitly state the Map Tier.
  • Blessed Orbs are now able to reroll the specific Conqueror inhabiting Conqueror Maps, or the specific Elder Guardian inhabiting Elder Guardian Maps. This change does not affect pre-existing Conqueror Maps or Elder Guardian Maps.
  • Kirac no longer offers Atlas Missions, and defeating Map Bossess no longer has a chance to grant Kirac Missions. As a result, the Planar Tactician, Solidarity, Expert Reconnaissance, Commissioned Officer and Expect the Unexpected Notable Atlas Passives and associated small Passives have been removed.
  • Scouting Reports can no longer be obtained, and existing items no longer function.
  • The Side Quest Divination Card has been temporarily disabled, and existing copies of this card cannot be traded in.
  • Cartographer's Chisels can no longer be obtained, though existing items will still function, and Map Device crafting options have been removed. The loss of content and loot here has been compensated in other areas.
  • The Cartographer Divination Card has been temporarily disabled, and existing copies of this card cannot be traded in.
  • Temple Architects now drop additional Scarabs instead of additional Map Currency while you have an Atlas of Worlds room in the Temple.
  • Reduced the chances for Quality Currency to drop from Synthesised Monsters in Synthesised Maps.

  • Resonating Shrine no longer grants a bonus per power, frenzy and endurance charge, instead now granting an additional maximum power, frenzy and endurance charge. This shrine still grants random charge generation on hit and on kill.

Keepers of the Flame as a Core League

Thanks to your help, Ailith and the Order of the Keepers of the Flame have managed to curb the onslaught of the Breachlords, but the fight is not yet over. Ailith and the Order have solidified their position, and will continue to offer assistance and rewards as you drive back the Hiveborn across Wraeclast.
  • You now encounter Ailith for the first time at the Mud Flats entrance in the Coast in Act 6, where she will enlist your aid in the fight against the Hiveborn.
  • Breach Hives and Unstable Breaches now spawn in areas from Act 6 Mud Flats onwards.
  • Multiple Unstable Breaches can spawn in areas. However, Breach Hives and Unstable Breaches cannot both be present in areas. Areas also cannot contain more than one Breach Hive.
  • Breach Hives in areas have approximately 30% less radius.
  • Reduced the visual size of walls and other objects within Breach Hive encounters.
  • Walls within Breach Hives can now be instantly destroyed by damage from players and their allies. This can only be done while the encounter is not in progress.
  • Added a new currency, Flesh of Xesht: transforms a Breach Unique to its alternate version.
  • Breachstones are now non-functional. They can be traded to a vendor in exchange for a Hivebrain Gland (and not asking too many questions).

  • Hivebrain Glands now directly open portals to a Hive Colony, rather than being used alongside a Map to add an entrance to a Hive Colony within that area.

  • Graftblood has been renamed to Hiveblood.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where allied Hiveborn monsters could incorrectly be raised as Spectres.
  • Fixed a bug where the Locus Mine Support and Runegraft of Refraction did not correctly interact with Kinetic Blast of Clustering's number of explosions, nor Spectral Helix's number of bounces.
  • Fixed a bug where Triggered skills such as Kinetic Flux (from Kinetic Instability Support) were able to cause Poets Pen to trigger socketed spells.
  • Fixed a bug where skills supported by Living Lightning support could then become supported by certain normally restricted supports. An example being Shield Charge being supportable by Multistrike support.
  • Fixed a bug where orbs that jumped towards terrain from Storm Burst could sometimes get stuck, resulting in them not jumping any further or dealing any further damage until the skill was released.
  • Fixed a bug where the Dream within a Dream Achievement could not be completed.
  • Fixed a bug where the Incarnation of Dread's Lightning Tendrils skill could persist after death.
  • Fixed a bug where have multiple Evolving Shrine buffs ignored the reduced chance for monsters to upgrade rarity every time a monster upgrades rarity.
  • Fixed a bug where Spectral Shield Throw and Spectral Shield Throw of Shattering could pierce, even though they stated that they could not.
  • Fixed a bug where Static Strike beams could target chests it could not open.
  • Fixed a bug where you could gain the Static Strike buff from hitting a chest.
  • Fixed the visuals of the Shockwave Totem nova being slightly larger than the actual damage area.
  • Fixed a bug where the visual area of Orb of Storms was slightly smaller than its damage area.
  • Fixed a bug where Chance to Bleed Support would display as Supporting Spells despite having no effect on them.
  • Fixed a bug where Rupture Support would display as Supporting Spells, despite having no effect on them.
  • Fixed a bug where Vaal Skills used by Totems would continue to apply new soul gain prevention whenever the Totem used the Skill and not just when the Totem is placed.
  • Fixed a bug where the Torment Scarab stated it granted the Area 3 additional Tormented Spirits in Ruthless, when it only granted 2.
  • Fixed a bug with the Champion Ascendancy where you could count as gaining Fortification while you had "you have your maximum Fortification" from the Fortitude Ascendancy Notable. This will prevent triggering effects like losing Endurances Charges when you gain Fortification on the Replica Badge of the Brotherhood Unique Amulet.
  • Fixed a bug where "Your Hits cannot Penetrate or ignore Elemental Resistances" from the Abhorrent Interrogation Unique Gloves was preventing you from penetrating Chaos Resistance as well as Elemental.
  • Fixed an issue where the buff granted by the Unique Steelworm quiver was unintentionally persisting through weapon swaps and scaling from modifiers to Buff Expiration Speed.
  • Fixed a bug where the level requirement of the Taming Unique Ring could be removed if you removed the Implicit Modifier via Corruption.
  • Fixed a bug where the "10% of Leech is Instant per Equipped Claw" Claw Passive Skill Mastery did not specify that this only applied to Life Leech. This is not a functional change, purely a correction of a description error.
  • Fixed a bug where increased Quantity of Gold Dropped by Slain Enemies was only applied to enemies you killed with hits, rather than any kill attributed to you.
  • Fixed a bug where Incarnation of Dread's Roses could reappear as uninteractable objects if you died and re-entered the arena just after completing a Rose phase.
  • Fixed a bug where Trarthan Gems could sometimes drop from Expedition Gem Chests instead of only dropping from Heist Gem Chests.
  • Fixed a bug where the Price of Protection Divination Card was not correctly creating Corrupted Maps with Implicit Modifiers.
  • Fixed a bug where The Herald of the Hive skill granted by Lost Unity Unique Ring was unable to breaks pots and other destructible objects with its pulse.
  • Fixed a bug where Critical Strikes dealing Cold Damage could not Stun targets immune to Freeze or targets that had Critical Strikes against you do not inherently inflict Elemental Ailments.

  • Fixed a bug where Summon Spectral Wolf was displaying an incorrect amount of maximum Life for the wolves in the Character panel.
  • Fixed a bug where Maps which were Mirrored would highlight when crafting with a Delirium Orb, despite the orb not being able to be applied.
  • Fixed a bug where opening the Reflecting Mist UI didn't pause the game.
  • Fixed a bug where certain league rewards were not generating in Ruthless if they tried to generate as Unique items.
  • Fixed a bug where some Incursion specific Caster Modifiers could roll on Attack Wands.
  • Fixed a bug where using a Vaal Orb on an Essence did not reward the Essence Corruption Achievement, and updated the Achievement description to state that a Vaal Orb is required.
  • Fixed a bug where it was possible to set stash affinities on remove-only tabs. You still couldn't put anything in those tabs, of course.
  • Fixed a bug where Oak, Alira and Kraityn would make a re-appearance as spectators during the Act 7 Ralakesh boss fight.

  • Fixed a bug where overlapping alarm lights in Heist areas were creating visual artefacts.
  • Fixed a bug in the Incarnation of Dread fight where a rose could be visible but not able to be collected.
  • Fixed a bug where the unsupported character glyph was showing in the thousandths place for certain locales.
  • Fixed a bug where 'Word by Word' text navigation (Ctrl + Left/Right) in text fields would incorrectly wrap to the end of the text input in some situations.
  • Fixed a bug where the Dun Shield microtransaction had lost its visual effects.

We really hope you enjoy Path of Exile: Mirage. Thanks for your support!

Announcing The Last of the Druids Race Event Community_Team#0000 02/26
It's time for some more Path of Exile 2 racing action starting from the 29th of March PDT! While the races are open to everyone, the purpose of them is to crown players that are willing to prove themselves against others. With the addition of the Druid and 21 new skills, the next race is sure to be a thrilling watch!

In this season's set of events, players will compete to be the first to kill Tavakai in Act 4 in a Solo Self-Found Fate of the Vaal fixed layout environment. While this is not a Hardcore Event, players will incur a penalty upon death where they will not be able to move until a two and a half minute period has lapsed. It will also be the first race to include the new Fate of the Vaal league content!

We'll be posting the ladder links below (when they're ready) so you'll be able to check who's leading in real-time during each race, or check the best times after the race to see how you fare against the top players.

In order to join, click the "Join" button for the race in the Character Select screen. You'll then be prompted to create a character. Once you've spawned in, you won't be able to move your character until the race starts.

These races will be open to PC and Console with a shared prize pool.

Event Times and Dates

  • Race 1: Mar 30, 2026 3:00 AM (GMT+8)
  • Race 2: Apr 06, 2026 4:00 AM (GMT+8)
  • Race 3: Apr 13, 2026 4:00 AM (GMT+8)

The above times are listed in your local time. You will need to be logged into your Path of Exile account and have the correct timezone settings to be able to view this. For clarity these times are as follows:

  • Race 1: March 29th 12PM PDT
  • Race 2: April 5th 1PM PDT
  • Race 3: April 12th 1PM PDT

We suggest that you join the races early, as each race will start at the same time for all players.

Prizes

The Demigod's Virtue Unique item will be up for grabs for the top placement of each class:

  • Ranger
  • Sorceress
  • Witch
  • Monk
  • Warrior
  • Mercenary
  • Huntress
  • Druid - New

This means in each race, eight Demigod's Virtues will be awarded. Future events will include other classes when they're added to Early Access.

As we do more race events in the future, we'll cycle through all the Demigod's items. They'll eventually represent an entire armour set including weaponry, so you might be able to collect the entire set if you're good enough!

Upon the conclusion of each race, a Remove-Only stash tab will be added in your core leagues where you can choose to remove the item from the tab to equip it, show it off, link it to others or keep it there as a trophy for the ages. Or you can trade it away if you don't care, your call!

If you want to use it as a cosmetic, you'll be able to convert it into a microtransaction using the /convertracereward chat command.

All future leagues will have this Remove-Only stash tab too, but they will only become available one month into the league.

We're also awarding more prizes in this set of races! The fastest times for each class across all three races will receive their choice of one of the new Official Path of Exile 2 Displates:

Check out the full selection of Displates here.

Finally, a Divination Card design will be awarded to the fastest player out of all three races.

Rules

These races are free to participate in and anyone is welcome to join. Streaming your POV will not be mandatory for this event. There are no limitations to how many races you can join, which means you will be able to win multiple Demigod's Virtues if you're skilled enough!

Please note that the use of inappropriate character names (i.e. those that breach our Terms of Use) during your run will result in you being disqualified from participating in that event or future race events in the series. If you plan to stream your run, these rules will also apply to throw-away stream names for those that are streaming on alternate channels. Please also note that any character names that appear to be attempting to subtly skirt the rules or get around them while still being generally appropriate will count as a breach in this instance. If you want to play it safe, just use your regular stream/race names that people regularly know you by. If you're using an alt to obscure your strategy, that's okay but please keep the above rules in mind.

Grinding Gear Games staff will be excluded from winning prizes in these events.

IMPORTANT RULE UPDATE

This race will be the first race where there will be special restrictions made only in the race event.

Both Incinerate and Flame Breath will not be able to be selected in the Gemcutting menu, as their interaction with Oil Grenade will be fixed in 0.5.0.

Where to Watch

Each of these races will be hosted live on twitch.tv/pathofexile with shoutcasting by ZiggyD and RaizQT. For race 2, CrimsonCasts will cover for Ziggy, who is unavailable that day. Co-streaming is welcome!

Good luck to everyone who is planning to participate. We can't wait to see how well the Druid fares, as well as how the new skills have transformed runs for the other classes!

Hidden blade's unseen strike not triggering Mjolner correctly. Mark_GGG#0000 02/20
So after my latest set of investigations, I can confirm there is a bug, although it's not what a lot of people have claimed it is. A lot of misinformation has been floating around about Unseen Strike, and several times people have reported things that are correct behaviour to me as being bugs. The wiki used to claim that it always attacked with the main hand. This is not and has never been correct. The wiki currently claims that it "locks in" one hand to use each time you gain phasing. That is not and has never been correct (and gaining/losing phasing does not itself have any influence on the hand chosen). However, it is possible to engineer specific circumstances that would look like either of those behaviours, at least for a while. The original design intent, for obvious thematic reasons, was that the triggered skill would attack with the Hidden Blade weapon. That weapon is literally the hidden blade that strikes out unexpectedly, represented by the triggered skill. But it has never actually worked that way. Right from the initial implementation, it has alternated hands if dual wielding - not because of any specific implementation in the skill, but because that's default behaviour for all attacks, and the skill has never had any override to that behaviour. While it had not been the original intent, and is thematically dubious, this behaviour was kept - a decision made before the item was ever released. There are comments in the original implementation ticket noting this behaviour and its consequences, both in terms of allowing the Unseen Strike skill to cause on-hit effects specific to the other weapon (such as Mjolnir) and allowing it benefit from weapons with high damage but low attack speed. The unique item, and the skill, were balanced around this behaviour before being released in 3.12.0. However, alternating does not necessarily mean that each trigger of the skill will use a different hand from the previous trigger of the skill - the alternation occurs over all skills of the character, not just this one. Each action the character does gets a unique action id, which is 1 higher than the previous action's id. Attack actions that don't implement some more complicated handling for dual wielding simply check if their id is even or odd to determine whether that action uses the main or off hand. This means that whether a given trigger of Unseen Strike uses the same hand as the previous trigger, or the other hand, depends on how many actions the character does between the two. This has always been the case since before the item & skill went live, and is still true today. Unfortunately that is not the end of the story. Technically-minded readers are no-doubt already composing replies pointing out that using action ids this way has a flaw when one attack that should alternate triggers another skill, and indeed this was once the case. Back when Mjolnir was first implemented, if you had 1 or 3 lightning spells socketed for it to trigger, it would stop your attacks from alternating. You make a main-hand attack with Mjolnir, and lets say that attack has id 2. If it triggers 1 spell, that spell has id 3, and then when you go to attack again, that attack action gets id 4 - which is even, making it another main-hand attack. The same principle applies with 3 triggered spells because that's also an odd number of triggers happening. That effect was real and was used by some players to trigger Mjolnir more while benefiting from global stats on an off-hand weapon that didn't get used. Even if moving around and doing other things made one of your attacks get an odd id, that wouldn't trigger anything, so it would alternate back to even on the next attack to restart the "every-attack-uses-Mjolnir" train. This was fixed back in 3.7.0 - a long time before Hidden Blade was even thought of - by having skills that are triggered from another action you perform cause an extra action id to be consumed, so that trigger didn't change whether the next action id would be even or odd. In contrast, triggered skills that were triggered from outside of the skills you were directly performing, such as things triggered by Cast on Stun (or Unseen Blade, but it didn't exist yet), had no need to do this - they were a new, independent action, so used up 1 action id like any other, and fit into the character's general alternation of hands. This system worked well for a long time, both before and after the release of The Hidden Blade and its Unseen Strike skill. But was complicated in 3.21.0 by the release of Summon Triggerbots, which intercepted an event of triggering a spell to make it trigger twice instead, which of course messed with the number of ids consumed. This was quickly noticed and fixed in 3.21.1 - the patch note specifically mentioned Poet's Pen because that's what it was noticed with, but the bug and fix technically affected all triggered skills. However, that fix had an unintended consequence, which made all triggered skills, not just those being triggered from other skills, now consume an extra action id. This affected Unseen Strike, changing it from the correct behaviour, where it would alternate hands if an even number of actions (including zero) happened between triggers, and the same one otherwise, to the reverse - so if you do no other actions, Unseen Strike no longer alternates. So Unseen Strike changing hands or using the same hand as the previous trigger is dependent on how many actions the character performs between triggers, as it always has been, but currently it is alternating for an odd number of other actions and keeping the same hand for an even number (including zero), when it should be the reverse. During frantic gameplay, where the character is doing a lot of things very quickly, the number of actions performed between triggers is fairly arbitrary and this is likely to be hard to distinguish from the correct behaviour for most players - especially when moving around, because when one move action transitions into the next - and thus how many action ids are used running around the place - depends on a bunch of internal factors. But in specific circumstances where the character is not doing much or anything else - such as when a player is trying to test this behaviour - it becomes easier to distinguish. A character doing nothing but triggering Unseen Strike will see it always use the same hand until they do another action, at which point it will swap to using the other hand, and this is clearly different from what it should be doing in that case, which is alternating with each trigger. We are currently internally assessing the ways this bug could be fixed and what else might be impacted by doing so, and potential other improvements to Unseen Strike's handedness.

Path of Exile 2 0.5.0 Timeline Community_Team#0000 02/19
It’s been over two months since the launch of the Last of the Druids, so soon it will be time to talk about the next big update for Path of Exile 2.

Towards the end of April we will be announcing our full plans for the 0.5.0 update including all the changes we will be making to the endgame as well as the new league! It’s a pretty huge update, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, there is still plenty of time left to play in the ongoing Fate of the Vaal league. Fate of the Vaal will end right before 0.5.0 is released. After that, your characters and their items will be migrated to the Standard or Hardcore Early Access league. There will not be any wipes, so once migration is complete, you can play your characters in the Early Access leagues.
