Nearly 20 years ago, I was going through a divorce after years of feeling lonely and disconnected from my partner.
I finally made the decision to leave my marriage, and that choice changed the entire direction of my life.
Part of what pushed me toward becoming a therapist was my own bad experience in counseling. I sat across from someone who didn’t know how to help me learn what I so desperately needed: how to communicate, how to stay connected, and how to feel seen in a relationship. I set out to figure it out for myself—and then to help others do the same.
For the past 15 years, I’ve worked with couples and individuals, hearing their stories and exploring my own. I’ve learned a thing or two about what it takes to communicate clearly, create more connected relationships, and build real self-esteem and self-worth. My work continues to inspire me every day.
It’s also what led me to write my book, The Cost of Quiet: How to Have the Hard Conversations that Create Secure, Lasting Love, and to start my podcast, Insights from the Couch, where I help women get unstuck and come alive at midlife. Along the way, I’ve stepped into speaking and coaching, sharing not just my professional expertise but also the lessons I’ve had to learn the hard way.
Here, in this space, I share my stories, insights, and practical tips on communication, relationships, facing fear, going after what you really want, and learning to feel good about yourself from the inside out. My hope is that it feels like sitting down on the couch together—real, honest, and maybe even a little bit life-changing.
