RRoadmap
Motion Editor Roadmap
The roadmap is focused on making one editor-first workflow reliable before expanding the surface area again.
Now
Motion Editor- Manual Make editable copy flow with original code snapshots
- Click-to-select layer boxes in the preview
- Move and resize controls for text, image, and shape layers
- Recorded drag paths stored as motion tracks
Next
Production polish- More reliable layer generation from prompts and references
- Cleaner timeline affordances for layer timing
- Motion smoothing presets and undoable takes
- Better handoff between Matrix batches and the editor
Later
Creative system loop- Reusable storyboard and motion templates
- Result import for winner-to-next-variant workflows
- Stronger brand and compliance controls
- Selective return of legacy tools when they support editable outputs
Quality bar before expanding
- Generated videos consistently expose editable layer manifests for visible objects.
- Dragging and resizing layers produces predictable Remotion code changes.
- Recorded motion tracks can be smoothed, replayed, and edited without breaking the original composition.
- Exports, billing, account limits, and credit usage are stable enough for repeated production work.
Not the current focus
Broad marketplace distribution, generic ad automation, and template-marketplace expansion stay behind the editor workflow. They can return where they create editable Remotion outputs instead of another disconnected surface.
