Inspired by Tracy and James, I’ve wanted to document the guiding principles by which I approach how I work on and write for shellsharks. Naturally too, I am taking this opportunity to bring this forth via a /why “slash page”. These tenets are not always concious decisions in everything I do, but they are unmistakably part of the foundation of this site, and of myself as a person.

  • My site is meant to be fun - for me, and for whoever comes here.
  • So I purposefully imbue this site with an unapologetic whimsy.
  • It’s a place to be uniquely me - my aesthetic, my writing style, my art, my topics.
  • I don’t box myself in creatively. I am free to write across all genres. It’s been Infosec, Technology, and Life-in-general from the beginning.
  • It is a place for me to learn, to teach, to “pay it forward”.
  • I write with a beginners mindset. I want what I write to be a reference for myself and available to be consumed by all.
  • Every page is a living document, I always reserve the right to change my mind, or add new content.
  • It is a way for me to connect - to be a part of, and build community.
  • Shellsharks is a central, canonical point of presence for myself on the web. I am shellsharks.
