Remove releases in your plan

This page refers to the advanced planning features that are only available as part of Jira Cloud Premium and Enterprise.

When you no longer want to include a release, you can either remove or delete it, depending on whether it’s been saved outside your plan.

  • You can remove a release when it’s been saved to a project. Removed release are no longer shown in your plan, but remain untouched the your projects.

  • You can delete a release if it hasn’t been saved or is a cross-project release (which can’t be saved outside your plan). Though the steps are the same, deleted releases can’t be recovered.

To remove or delete a release from your plan:

  1. In the Releases tab, find the release you want to remove from your plan.

  2. Select More actions () then Remove (or Delete). Confirm your decision in the modal that opens.
