my old windows 10 comp died so now have a zorin linux computer I am setting up. Took the win 10 drives out of the old box and can usb connect them to the new linux box so I can search for files . Copied over the old profile folder and set up the new thunderbird linux install fine.

Then located the 5 groups of address books I use for my home business, vendors, subs, customers etc. they were regularly updated on a NAS, where I found recent version.

All imported fine except the largest of the group, customers, been in business over 40 years so have a lot. That import only had one item and was much smaller in size than the others which makes no sense since it has the most contacts.

Question: where else can I look on the win 10 directories to find those missing files?

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks for taking the time to read this.

I recently installed Thunderbird on my android phone. I am now trying to install it on my windows11 desktop. The installation crashed, and even though Thunderbird shows as installed, it does not come up when clicked. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, but it asked me again for a donation. Having donated once, I don't want to again, but there's no apparent way around it. I have Thunderbird on my phone and would like to put it on my desktop and ipad, but I'm not going to make a donation each time. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks

I've followed Thunderbird setup according to "Automatic Conversion of Google mail accounts to OAuth 2.0 Authentication" (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/automatic-conversion-google-mail-accounts-oauth20) The failure is described in my initial post below:

Mozilla Support - Signin, and use of Thunderbird https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1484529#answer-1729438

LarryGad post (Reply to Ashley LambertonQuestion owner): I get the same screenshot Ashley posted above. But...clicking Allow doesn't download my Gmail messages. And clicking the link, Account Permissions, just produces a blank window. An idiosyncrasy is I'm the domain administrator for a "Free Legacy Edition of G Suite for personal use".

This paragraph may not be relevant to the above issue. I did stumble across the Account settings link (https://myaccount.google.com/general-light?pli=1) which contains the line: 'Connected accounts View and manage your accounts from other services' Clicking the 'View ...' link goes to https://profiles.google.com/connectedaccounts and displays the message: "404. That’s an error. The requested URL was not found on this server. That’s all we know." Highlighting the 'View ...' link shows https://profiles.google.com/connectedaccounts?authuser=0

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

my mail host automatically files mails that are addressed to [email protected] into a folder named "filter". Thunderbird does not display these folders by default. If I open the subscriptions for the account, the folder is displayed and marked by the subscription checkbox. Unsubscribing and resubscribing is necessary to display the folder.

In the account's Advanced Server Settings, I have unchecked "Show only subscribed servers" in an attempt to make the folders show up by default, but this was unsuccessful.

Any help to make these folders show up automatically would be appreciated.

TBird 128.10.Oesr (64-bit)

Left-side pane has my files where I save incoming messages. Now, for some reason, some of those file names are "grayed-out" and attempting to drag a message to one of those files results in the file not accepting the message. Other files are not grayed-out, and dragging a message there works as it should.

So what/who decided some files should be grayed-out and reject messages?

Thank you for your assistance. Appreciated.

For a week, I have not been able to send any emails through Thunderbird.

This is the only day that I have been able to delve further into the problem.

If I send an email, this is the response that I get after sending. Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

I have contacted my main provider and they have been useless. I contacted my secondary provider and they sent me what the settings should be. I checked their info against mine and everything is correct.

I prefer Mozilla products over all others and I wish to get this corrected sooner later, I have two assignments to send over the weekend.

I would rather being doing something else that trying to figure out this problem.

I should be celebrating or mourning the passing of my wife 3 years ago, than trying to figure out what is wrong.

One thing I did do was to go to the Mozilla website and download Thunderbird again in case there was a conflict somewhere in the system.

Thanking you in advance. K

Owing to a price rise in MS Office, I had been looking to move to free software. Unfortunately for email this isn't working. I have downloaded Thunderbird and have tried to transfer my Outlook data there. I started two weeks ago and on average believe the process has been running a few hours a day, for much of the time when I look occupying 0% of CPU capacity, and most of the time not rising above 1%. The import has been stuck at 33% for that time, which I assume means that it imported Accounts and Settings or Address Books quickly and is taking a very long time to import Mail Messages. (It imported the couple of month's worth on webmail quite quickly.) Likely this is owing to the size of the Outlook file, 5 GB. Does this essentially make the transfer impossible? For how large a file could Thunderbird do a successful import?

I have tried all the suggestions in the web article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/automatic-conversion-google-mail-accounts-oauth20

none of the recommended solutions resolve the problem.

Server Settings: IMAP Server imap.gmail.com port 993 ssl/tls Oauth2

SMTP Server smtp.gmail.com port 465 ssl/tls Oauth2

Any other suggestions?

I have been successfully using Thunderbird for several weeks with my Protonmail account. I have four Proton calendars that I created as "on the network" using the links provided by Proton Calendar with full edit permissions.

This all worked fine up until yesterday: I could create, edit, delete events in all four calendars and they were synced to Proton without issue.

Starting today, I now get this message when I try to create, edit, or delete events in any calendar:

An error occurred when writing to the calendar calendar! Please see below for more information. Error code: MODIFICATION_FAILED. Description: If you're seeing this [etc. etc.]

I checked the Console log and all it contains is the exact same message.

I can successfully edit the calendar in Proton, and changes still sync to Thunderbird.

Things I have tried: - Upgrading both Thunderbird and Proton calendar to latest releases - Unsubscribing from the calendar in Thunderbird and creating a new subscription - Creating a brand new calendar in Proton (export all events from old calendar, import to new) and subscribe to that calendar - Clearing Thunderbird's cache - Asking for help in the Proton help forums

Any suggestions are very welcome. To reiterate, this started spontaneously today.

I am running Windows 10 with Thunderbird 128.10.0esr. I was getting login password errors at random. I would close and reopen with no issues. New Messages would load as normal and I could get new messages with no problem. Now I get no new messages nor can I get new messages by clicking on the "Get Messages". I have been using Thunderbird since it came out with no issues. I did not reconfigure anything. I can find no helpful information anywhere. Please Help. I can still get email on other devices except for this one. This is the third time I have posted this with no response from anyone.

I have a (former) e-mail address given to me from a university. I want to keep all the e-mail in thunderbird.

Since the e-mail account doesn't exist anymore on the server, the authentication of course fails. Or in other words: There are multiple pop-ups asking me for my password every time I open thunderbird.

How to tell the program that it shouldn't try to authenticate with a server anymore? I have already tried to leave the SMTP or IMAP server address blank, but it doesn't let me.
