What to Know

Critics Consensus

A twisty mystery that grows more addictive as it unfolds, Down Cemetery Road is tonally imbalanced but has a steadfast center of gravity in Emma Thompson's flinty star turn.

Down Cemetery Road has its moments, but overall is a reminder that what Slow Horses does is a lot harder than it appears. Go to Full Review

With a mix of compulsive storytelling and two commanding performances from its female leads, Down Cemetery Road is a winner. Go to Full Review

The season contains enough mystery and cloak-and-dagger to maintain interest and suspense, but also not so dramatically dark that you won’t want to come back week after week. Go to Full Review

As I watched Down Cemetery Road, I was struck by how intentionally Black women were cut out of the story and white women were portrayed as the only salvation for a corrupt system. Go to Full Review

Derek R @Planespotter 4h Plot quite predictable after only a few episodes. Poor character development. Use of violence used to pep up the story had the opposite effect - unnecessary and a distraction to the story. Series suffered from low production values. In particular, depicting a Cornish village and the Bristol coastline as the west coast of Scotland shows poor judgment. See more Patrick S @patseitz 4h I hated this show. The writing was abysmal and tone was all over the place. The story made no sense. I only made it through maybe three episodes and gave up. I'm a big Slow Horses fan and that's why I checked it out. See more Laura D @LauraRosa 5h Had its moments but got progressively worse. Outright stupid by the end See more Jayne M @Clodah 7h Please read the book, it’s a much better story. Yes, the acting in the TV adaptation is good but the characters in the book are given more depth. See more Joseph B 7h Just a bunch of shooting, unlikeable characters, and a lame storyline. Who cares. What a waste of time. Movies and TV continue to populate a wasteland. See more Ivan F @Neogrey 9h believeable at most times, great performance of the whole cast especially Ruth (who I frankly cannot stand, but she does her part brilliantly). Emma is astonishing as usual. It was fun watching it apart from some major plot holes See more Read all reviews
