Circle Graphs

The document provides instructions for creating a circle graph, including choosing a data set, filling out a table with the category, number of people, and computing the central angle for each sector. It also instructs the reader to measure the arc of each sector in degrees, which should match the central angle, and to calculate the circumference and area of the entire circle.

Name:_________________ Circle Graphs 1. Choose a circle 2. Choose a data set 3. Fill in the first two columns of the table.

4. What other information do you need to make a circle graph? Use the third column to do any computations you need and then make the graph. Dont estimate, make the graph very precise. 5. Every sector (slice) of your circle graph has an angle at the center point. This is called the central angle. Fill in the central angle for each sector. 6. Every sector of your circle graph also has an arc (the curved edge on the circle). This arc can be measured in two ways, length (in centimeters) and angle (in degrees). The degree measure of the arc is the same as the degree measure of the central angle. Fill in the arc measure in degrees for each sector.

7. Find the circumference of your circle. Show your measurements and calculations.

8. Find the area of your circle. Show your measurements and calculations.

9. Bonus: find the arc length of each sector in centimeters and the area of each sector.
