Marketing Plan
According to Varsitarian, the official publication of the University, Half of the
sophomore or 315 out of 764 remove from the program because of failing the
accountancy retention exam. The project proponents conducted a survey from 6 th
day to 10th day of March, 2016 and they found out that among 86 respondents
coming from different faculties and colleges in the University, 74 out of 86 or 86%
experience difficulty in their subject and 14% do not find any of his/her subjects
difficult (see Figure 1).

From Figure 2, 40 out of 74 students who find his/her subject difficult or 54% said
that he/she needs a tutor. Nine out of 12 students who did not find any difficulty in
their subject are willing to earn money by teaching. Most students who need help
and seek a tutor are willing to pay 100-200 pesos per hour.

These figures prove that most of the Thomasian students need help academically
and this application, Grabtutor, would help each and every student to find the most
appropriate tutor for them easily and instantly.

Economics
The companys target markets are all Thomasian students and faculties,
particularly 40,000+ students and faculties, assuming that all students are
smartphone users. The target market is not only limited to students since professors
or faculties can use the app to earn through tutoring.
There is no financial expense in building this application and the company will
earn by getting commission for every transaction done. The application will be free
for all and can be downloaded in the playstore for android users and app store for
iphone users. The company will name the app as Grabtutor so that it would be
catchy to the consumers just like the GrabTaxi or GrabCar as long as the DTI would
allow that trademark.
The company would ensure that tutors are capable and proficient enough in
their areas of teaching. Hence, the company would oblige each tutor and aspirant to
take an assessment exam.

Product
Grabtutor is the only Philippine based app that offers tutoring services for the
students. Since the company is just starting up, the target market of the application
would be limited to the University of Santo Tomas students and faculties to ensure
the security of both the tutor and tutee. This app would help the student to find a
tutor coming from the university whether its a student or a professor instantly
using their smartphone. The tutee can choose the date, time and place he/she
wants and the application will display the available tutor that fits his/her preference.
On the other hand, the tutor can be a student or faculty as long as he mastered the
subject, can earn money by rendering tutorials. Thus the app would be beneficial to
all

It is clear that the application won in almost all the aspects presented. App
users can get the quality tutors in a flexible and secure manner. Using this app
would assure the tutee that he gets a good and proficient tutor for that subject

since tutors would undergo battery of exams to prove that they are capable in
teaching that subject. The application will also provide peer rating so that tutees
can assess the performance of the tutor.
