Student A claims there are 8 planets in the solar system while Student B claims there are 12, with evidence that Student B may be counting dwarf planets like Pluto. Earth has the third largest mass of the inner planets and contains water and life. Dr. Grumbles' claim that winter is colder because Earth is farther from the sun is wrong, as winter occurs in the northern hemisphere when that side of Earth is tilted away from the sun, while it is summer in the southern hemisphere. The path of the sun changes during seasons due to Earth's tilt and rotation, causing different angles of sunlight. Seasons would be different on Uranus compared to Earth as Uranus is colder and smaller with a ring of ice

the biggest planet you will have the least weight
b. I think the gravitational pull will be bigger and you would be lighter
3. How does the mass of our planet compare to the other inner planets?
a. I think our planet is the third largest but im not positive.
b. Earth has water and contains life
4. Dr. Grumbles claims that it is colder during the winter because Earth is farther from the sun.
Provide evidence to prove him right or wrong?
