Combination Drive Reservoir Tutorial

This document provides a tutorial on using the Tarner method to predict the behavior of an oil reservoir with an original gas cap and water influx. It lists the basic data needed for the performance prediction, including relative permeability ratio data. Tables 2 through 6 and Figures 6 through 8 summarize the calculations required to complete detailed predictions at reservoir pressures of 3000, 2700, 2400, 2100, and 1800 psi and plot the performance prediction graphically.

COMBINATION DRIVE RESERVOIR TUTORIAL

(Reference: Reservoir Engineering Manual by F. W. Cole, 2nd Ed. 1969)

Example Problem 1
The Tarner method will be used to predict behavior of a reservoir which
has an original gas cap and water influx. Basic data required for the performance
prediction are shown in Table 1. Figure 1 shows relative permeability ratio data.
Table 2 through 6 and Figure 6 through 8 summarize the calculation.
Complete the detailed calculations for 3000, 2700, 2400, 2100 and 1800
psi. Plot the performance prediction in the graphical form.
