“Egg Experiment”

Vinegar 
After the members of our group put the egg into the jar, there are bubbles
seen on the surface of the egg immediately after it was soaked to the
vinegar solution.

After two days, we measured first the egg


and it has a measure of 17.8cm, which is
surprising because it increased 4cm in
size. While removing the Vinegar Solution,
we noticed a white thick substance which
is the eggshell after the chemical reaction
which is why we see bubbles because it
starts releasing carbon dioxide gas. Also
there are still dissolved eggshell left on the
egg, and we can remove it by wiping.

After washing the egg, we observed the texture and it is smooth,


bouncy,and rubbery. The Vinegar Solution affected the egg’s smell which it
made it smell strongly like vinegar. And also we can see the egg yolk and
the egg whites insides the egg.

 
 
 
Water 
After two days of soaking the egg into the water, there’s no changes in the
egg but the measure increased by 0.2 cm and it already changed its color
which is slowly turning white. After observing, we changed the liquid in the
jar and we soaked the egg into the green foodcoloring. 
 
Food Color 
Just after we put the coloring for just 1 minute, the color immediately
sticked to the egg. After two days of soaking the egg into the green
foodcoloring, the color became darker but nothing really else changed on
the egg.

After observing again, we changed the liquid in the jar and we soaked the
egg into the salt water.  

 
Salt Water  
In this procedure, we just add water in the jar and the salt. While putting our
egg into the jar with salt water the egg floats, and also the more salt, the
more the egg floats.

After two days of soaking the egg into the salt water, small amount of the
color was removed in the egg. We observed the texture of it and it became
more hard to squish. Also its measure didn’t change much.

After observing, we put the egg in any liquid of our choice so we put sprite
in the jar and soaked the egg.

Sprite 
This is the last stage of the experiment. After putting the egg in the sprite
the surface of the egg becomes bubbly just like in the Vinegar Solution.
After two days maintaining the egg in the sprite, the became more soft and
it felt like bursting when you squish it. And We can also see some white
parts seen on the egg.
