Reaction Paper

This reaction paper discusses a video about a boy who kept his secret of identifying as a girl hidden from his friends. He began dating one of his friends secretly but they eventually found out his true identity. Though society can be discriminatory, the video teaches that one should accept themselves for who they are rather than hiding their true self. It also conveys that effective communication requires overcoming barriers between people and understanding different emotions and perspectives. While differences may face rejection, embracing who you are can inspire others to accept diversity. The paper analyzes how the video reflects real life experiences of hiding one's identity but encourages not being defined by others' judgments.

I. INTRODUCTION

Secrets are hidden because of personal reasons. It may cause a deep wound and leave a
scar that would last for a lifetime. Oftentimes, we are afraid of getting hurt so we are avoiding
such things. Pertaining to gender, most bisexuals and lesbians hide their true-self because of they
are afraid of the society. Afraid of discrimination or maybe rejection. We accept ourselves fully
but we can’t be accepted by the society. They tend to show it but then again, we treat it as a joke
causing others to rebel.

The video portrayed a scenario about a group of friends, all are boys but there is that one
person who has the heart of a girl. He keeps this secret into himself but then he had a relationship
with his friend. They began to go out on a date without informing their peers. One day, they
finally knew the true colors of their friend. Since then, that person accepted who he truly is and
doesn’t care about anymore discriminations.

Effective communication is to cross over the barriers that hinders the people involved to
communicate properly. If there is a barrier within the people in the society, it is very difficult to
communicate. Communication is more than just exchanging of informations. It is about
understanding the emotions and feelings of each other.

II. VALUES CONVEYED

Truth is not that easy to tell if you have doubts and fears. But it should be unveiled or
else, it becomes a burden. It is better to tell the truth right away that to make it last long. The
short video clip showed us that even though there is ignorance and rejections on our
community, we just need to set it aside and press on to live you life. Do not pretend. You have
to be honest in everything you do and to love yourself first before others because the society
may judge you but the most important thing is that you accept who you are and to live out the
best in you.
It is also important to think positively all the times. Effective communication takes place if
the people involved achieved their desired outcome through exchanging information. So, if we
continue to be negative, we could not be free and happy. That is why it is important for us to
express our feelings and emotions effectively but still we need to stay on our limits and we need
to have restrictions in our actions.
III.REACTION (REALITY OF LIFE)

The video showed us a picture in real life because we are experts in hiding who we are.
The main character in the story made us realize that we should not be afraid of our differences.
There are such gems among us and we are all made with a purpose and needs acceptance. The
friends in the story are ethical people and cares about the feeling of their friend rather than
judging him. That is why their friend became more expressive on himself disregarding other’s
opinions. In the end, he embraced who he is and began to inspire more people like him to love
their differences because this is what made everyone special.

Few are those who accept their true self and expose it to the public. This covers the
issues concerning the LGBTQs. They are not fully accepted by the society because it is against
God’s law. In ourselves, we do judge those who are different from us. It is not always easy to
admit that we’re all equal.

We just need to look beyond the objective personality of others. This is to think
holistically and outside of the box. Also, this is similar to crossing the boundaries of our
differences. Through this, we could achieve effective communication. We can all be satisfied
whenever we communicate and develop an atmosphere of succesful communication.
