STATEMENT OF PURPOSE(write the name of Course)
The ensuring statement of purpose is meant to put forward my aspiration to pursue my career
through Masters in Mechatronics Systems at your esteemed university, which I believe , will
not only supplement my knowledge that I have acquired but also provide me with the best
possible platform for the attainment of my future goals. As a Mechanical Engineering
undergraduate student with an passionate
ardent interest in automation and robotics, I have learnt the principles of Mechatronics those are
applicable to control systems, instrumentation and processes which naturally widens my scope of
learning and research. This has fascinated,
intrigued me to explore the option of pursuing higher education.
I have always cherished a dream to become a Mechanical Engineer, a dream that was developed
slowly over the years. I first think of becoming an engineer when I saw documentaries on
National Geographic and Discovery channels about “massive engines”, “how do they do it?” and
“mega factories” . From my school days I found myself fascinated by the intricacies of physics
which spurn the web of curiosities and my keen interest towards engineering. Also, my few visits
to the industries nearby our school enabled me to retain as well as enhance my keen interest in
the field and thus, influenced me to pursue my undergraduate course in Mechanical Engineering.
I finished my schooling with 10 CGPA (95%) in 10 th class and with 79.8% in 12th class. I gave
various entrance tests after my class 12 th and scored well in them. I got admitted to Swami
Keshvanand Institute of Technology (SKIT) through JEE MAINS examination in the course of
Mechanical Engineering. I am proud to say that our college is one of the best colleges in the state
that is accredited “A” grade by “NBA” and “AICTE”. In my undergraduate studies I got 71.3%,
got the honours degree and was among the top students in class. The vision & mission of the
Department of Mechanical Engineering of my college motivates me to work hard towards my
goal and the faculties, staff members and my classmates always helped me whenever I need help
in my studies.
In the undergraduate course I have taken computer courses in C-Language, C++ & OOPs which
are necessary to link modern world with mechatronics systems. I participated in soft skills to
improve my communication skills and personality. I have also learned designing software like
AutoCAD & CREO. In my final year of graduation as a part of curriculum I learned Finite
Element Method Analysis to determine the best solution to a given problem. I participated in
ICONRER-2017 and presented paper on “Future of Renewable Energy Transportation” &
NCDSC -2017. In the Industrial Tour in 3 rd year, we visited “Maruti Suzuki Limited” and
“National Bearing Company” it was a great learning experience for me. I did my internship from
“Indian Railway Locomotive Workshop” and learned about the periodic overhauling of the
locomotive. My interest in this field was further enhanced by Robotic exhibitions and
competitions, especially “Techfest”.
I also joined the Robotics Club of my college, which gave me the platform for Mechatronics. In
the curriculum, I also learned about Microelectronics, Systems & Controls, Real time
Instrumentation and Design of Mechatronics Systems.
In the final year I presented my final project on “Automated Path following welding machine”,
which was a Mechatronics based project and was very well appreciated by the faculty and staff
of college.
The German universities have always pioneered the research in the field of Mechatronics
Systems. Being a prospective student for new challenging ideas, I believe that an opportunity for
higher education in Germany would be great to test and prove my ability and also to enrich and
broaden my keen with transition to a new setting. Also, I would like to add here that my parents
have always been a source of inspiration to me. They have set me personal examples and ideals
for me to follow. As a result of this, I believe that over the years, I have evolved into a person
who can fit easily into a team and who appreciates the value of discussion and exchanges of
ideas. I am self-motivated, patient, diligent and have passion
penchant to explore new technologies.
I am fully aware of the fact that pursuing this course requires a high level of intelligence,
dedication and immense sacrifice. I am confident that I have the capability to contribute
positively towards your esteemed university and with great hope, I eagerly wait for your
benevolent act of accepting me into your fold and granting me an admission in my desired
course.
