LETTER OF MOTIVATION

“Mechatronics Engineer is someone who solves a problem you didn’t know you had in a way you
didn’t understand”

As a member of Generation Z, I grew up in the age of smartphones, social media, and the
internet. Our generation is accustomed to using digital tools for communication, education, and
entertainment. So, technology has become a part of my life. Being a tech-savvy, I am truly
passionate about the advancements in technology, especially the launch of new gadgets.
Moreover, I am an avid follower of YouTube shows such as Engineering Explained and the
Robotics Brains Podcast. I am deeply engaged with these shows and a big fan of science fiction
and robotics movies such as Transformers and Pacific Rim. I closely observe the tech world
and its evolutions with great enthusiasm. In today’s world, automation has become a
cornerstone of industries like manufacturing, logistics, and automotive, driving what we call
Industry 4.0. Robotics, smart systems, and IoT have become indispensable in almost every
sector. For example, home automation systems like Alexa and home-cleaning robots have
become mainstream and accessible, even for middle-class families. This technological
revolution demands highly skilled professionals who can excel across multiple disciplines.
When I decided to pursue engineering, I was initially confused of which stream to choose. I
wanted to build a career that combined my interests in electronics, machinery, robotics,
and programming. Mechatronics perfectly encapsulates all these passions, making it the
ideal choice for me. It offers the opportunity to be part of cutting-edge advancements and
contribute to shaping the future of technology.

My name is JEEVAN KADAMTHODE GIGI (passport Number Y1099509). I am from India. I

have been accepted into the Bachelors in Mechatronics Engineering offered by the
Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences for the Summer term 2025 and with
this written document am applying for the German National Visa.

Regarding my academic credentials, I did my secondary education in Kristu Jyoti Vidya Niketan,
Under the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations and higher secondary education
in the Bio-Math stream at Placid Vidya Vihar Senior Secondary School, under the Central Board
of Secondary Education, in the years 2022 and 2024 and secured 90.4% and 86.4% marks
respectively.

While choosing a bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, I considered various aspects. The first was
aligning my choice with my passion for automation and machine learning. The second was the
advantage of gaining an upper hand in the job market by equipping myself with skills that are in high
demand. Last but not least, I considered the opportunity to contribute to innovations and research in
the field, aiming to develop technologies that make our world easier to navigate and more sustainable.
After extensive research, I found the Bachelor’s in Mechatronics Engineering at RWU as the ideal
one due to its interdisciplinary curriculum and practical approach.

As a great fan of tech videos, I am deeply impressed by the technological advancements of

Germany. I recognize that Germany holds an irreplaceable position in the fields of engineering and
technology. Its focus on sustainability and energy-efficient technologies aligns perfectly with my
ambition to develop innovations that make life easier and more sustainable. Additionally, Germany
offers a multicultural environment, state-of-the-art research facilities, and numerous internship
opportunities, which will help me develop the technical and professional skills needed to excel in the
global job market. By choosing to study in Germany, I aim to utilize the country’s expertise and
resources to enhance my technical knowledge, contribute to groundbreaking projects, and ultimately
drive positive change in the field of automation and robotics.

My proposed course is a seven-semester program that includes a one-semester internship. The

curriculum is diverse and comprehensive, covering a range of subjects. In the first semester, it includes
Mathematics (Analysis, Linear Algebra, Numerical Analysis), CAD and Technical Drawing,
Computer Science (Basics and Programming), and Mechatronics Basics. Subsequent semesters delve
deeper into topics such as Fundamentals of Physics, Statics and Mechanics of Materials, Object-
Oriented Programming, Analog Circuits in the Electronics Lab, Mechatronics Metrology Lab,
Electrodynamics, Mechanics (Kinetics and Engineering Design), and Application Programming.
The curriculum further explores Digital Circuits, Sensors and Control in Mechatronics, Materials,
Sustainability (Energy), Electric Drives, Modeling and Simulation, and Microcontrollers. Advanced
topics include Mechatronics Robotics, Sustainability, two specialization modules in the fourth
semester, electives in the seventh semester, and a practical internship in the sixth semester.
Additionally, it provides the chance to develop linguistic skills that reduces the cultural shock.

Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences is my ideal choice because of its

outstanding reputation for academic excellence and its emphasis on the Dynamics of Machines and
Mechanisms. The RWU program follows a practical approach with personalized attention due to small
group sizes, ensuring each student receives thorough guidance. The process of learning is supervised
by a team of highly qualified professors and assistants, providing a supportive learning environment.
The modern, well-equipped laboratories and a strong research focus are the other appealing factors.
The curriculum is application-oriented and industry-focused. The program also offers dedicated
support for international students, helping us integrate into both academic and cultural life.
Furthermore, the university maintains strong connections with major industries such as Airbus,
Continental, MTU, Vetter, and ZF, offering excellent networking and career opportunities. The high-
quality teaching, combined with personalized support from the Career Service, ensures that graduates
are well-prepared for their professional journeys.

While I am excited about studying abroad, my goal is to return to India after completing my
studies. I believe that the knowledge and skills I acquire will empower me to make meaningful
contributions to India’s growing Mechatronics landscape. The Indian government has launched
various policies, such as Make in India, Digital India, and the AI and Robotics Roadmap, which aim to
transform India's industries by adapting to new technologies. As part of this technological shift, I aim
to specialize as an Automation Engineer in the automobile sector. India is home to prominent
automobile giants like Tata Motors, and Mahindra Electric. I would like to a part of these firms,
ultimately contributing to sustainable automation practices in India. In the long term, I aspire to
contribute to the Mechatronics industry through innovative research, leadership, and collaboration
with global teams.
On the monetary aspect, I have paid the university’s tuition fees and enrolment fees and deposited
11,904.00 EUR in the block account at Expatrio for living expenses. I have achieved an IELTS score
of 8.0. Additionally, I am currently pursuing German.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to and learn
from the esteemed academic environment at Ravensburg- Weingarten University of Applied Sciences
