The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted on behalf of University Grants Commission
(UGC) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility of Assistant
Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship or both, for Indian Universities and Colleges.
Eligibility?
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree.
Difficulty levels?
The difficulty level of the exam was moderate. Candidates who prepared for
the exam well would not have felt much difficulty in attempting the questions.
To specifically talk about UGC NET paper-I, there were a lot of questions on Teaching
Aptitude, Research Aptitude and Higher Education System.
3-5 hours
takes about 3-5 hours of regular studies to clear the UGC NET exam. You cannot skip
the daily revisions if you really want to clear the exam.

For UGC NET Exam, you can apply.
What is the salary of a UGC NET qualified person?
A NET/JRF Holder who wants to pursue professorship in Private Universities would be
rewarded with Rs. 30000 – Rs. 70000 Per Month.
Exam Pattern
UGC NET 2021 Exam will be conducted in online mode to determine the
candidate’s eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship
(JRF) or Assistant Professor only posts in Indian Universities and Colleges.
It will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) consisting of two papers, i.e., Paper
I and II conducted in a single session (No break between Paper 1 & Paper

JRF and Assistant Professor or Assistant Professor only.

In Paper-I, the questions will be generic in nature,
intending to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate.
It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking
and general awareness of the candidate.
UGC NET Paper-I Exam Pattern and Syllabus:
The main objective of Paper-I is to assess the teaching and research capabilities of the
candidates.
They are expected to possess and exhibit cognitive abilities. Cognitive abilities include
comprehension, analysis, evaluation, understanding the structure of arguments and
deductive and inductive reasoning.
