Levels of Technology Integration:
☐ X Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or
Choice” during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.
☐ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.
Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
I will introduce the lesson by showing my class a video. The video is from YouTube and is called Counting
numbers by the Singing Walrus. I will show the video twice. The first time, they will focus on watching the
video. The second time, the students will join along and sing their best. After, there will be 20 little hoops
around the classroom. The students will hop from one hoop to the other while counting until the end. The
students will all get a chance to do the activity and I will help count until it is student-led.

Student Response and Assessment Tools
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☐ X Assess prior knowledge ☐ X Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☐ To illuminate common
misconceptions ☐ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) ☐ Summative assessment of content knowledge ☐ X Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☐ Discussion starter ☐ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):
Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: The SRT activity will be played twice. The
students will have an iPad or a mobile device. The students will not have to enter their names since they will
be using the iPad number that is connected to the number that was given to them at the beginning of the
school year. The students will answer all questions on the quiz that will be displayed on the board. Afterward,
we will review all answers and count them together to get the correct answer. we are done reviewing
answers, we will play again but instead of a regular quiz, we are going to do the space race. Students will be
divided into 4 groups anonymously by the website. The activity should last about 20-40 minutes depending on
how fast the students finish.
Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):
☐ X Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select ☐ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☐ X Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response
If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):
Question on all problems will be “How many are there?” All answers will be different.
Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?
☐ X Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☐ X Yes
☐ No
Why or why not? We will review answers as soon as we are done with all the problems.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
After the SRT activity, students will be given mini whiteboards. They will be asked to bring 20 items of some
sort from home. We will display the items in the hall. They should be small enough to fit in a Ziplock baggy.
They will be assessed in front of the teacher, one by one. The teacher will show a card and the student must
count how many there are. The other students will be busy coloring a worksheet that has objects on them
and answering questions.
How will the data be used?
The data will be collected by the website, Socrative. The data will be collected by me to make sure that
students can count and answer how many are there? questions that will allow me to make the decision if
students are ready to move on to the next topic. The information will not be used to collect a grade until I
know that my students are prepared. We will continue to review numbers until everyone can count. If it does
not work, we will continue playing the game a little each day. I will anonymously show the data to the kids.
We will track our progress by coloring in a progress line. Once we reach the top, students will be rewarded. If
time passes and students are not showing progress, the lesson will change and we will try new methods.

Student Response and Assessment Tools
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.
I have not tried to give everyone a tablet or a mobile device. I hope that students will be engaged in all
activities and that they learn to count because it is important to be able to count to 100. I also hope to learn if
my activity is helpful for students and will ask my students for their opinion at the end of the activity.
Reflective Practice:
This activity will help my students stay engaged and have fun while counting. I think that my students will also
be competitive and challenge them more. To further extend the lesson, I could record my class counting and
upload it on the teacher's website to share with their friends and families. We could also create our own how
many? questions and take them home so that family and friends can try to solve them.
