Safety Precautions:
https://computerassemblyfordummies.wordpress.com/overview/safety-precautions/
1. Fully shut down and unplug the computer before you make any attempts to disassemble the tower.
2. Take off any metal objects on your arms or fingers such as bracelets, rings or watches. Even if your unit is unplugged, there
may still be some remaining electric charge.
3. Make sure your hands are completely dry to avoid damaging any mechanical parts as well as to avoid electrocution.
4. Work in a cool area to avoid perspiration for the same reason as seen in the previous number.
5. Before touching any part within the tower, put your hands against another metal surface (such as the computer casing) to
remove static charge, which may damage sensitive devices.
6. Prepare a place to keep any screws you may remove. A container or piece of paper with labels for each part (casing,
motherboard, CD drive, etc) is ideal to avoid confusion between the similar-looking screws.
7. Handle all parts with care. Place each piece you remove carefully down onto a stable surface.
8. If a component does not come out easily, do not forcefully remove it. Instead, check that you are removing it correctly and
that no wires or other parts are in the way.
9. Be careful when holding the motherboard, it’s underside actually quite pointy and able to hurt you.
10. Never attempt to remove the power source, a box attached to the side or bottom of the unit to which all cables are
connected.
11. When removing any cables, wires or ribbons, make sure to grasp the wire at the base or head to keep it from breaking.
12. Be careful not to drop any small parts (particularly screws) into unreachable areas such as into the computer fan or disk drive.
13. Take note that the three of the most damaging things to a computer are moisture (sweat, drinking water), shock (electric or
from being dropped) and dust (any debris from household dust to bits of food).

To-Assemble-A-Basic-Desktop-PC/
Step 1:Procuring Parts
1. Processor (CPU)
Y 2. Computer Case
O 3. Optical Drive (DVD RW and
U SATA capable)
4. Memory (RAM)
5. Power Supply
M 6. SATA Cables
U 7. Motherboard (SATA
S Capable)
T 8. Processor Fan
9. Case Fan
H 10. Hard Drive (SATA Capable)
11. Assortment of case and
A drive screws (Not Pictured)
V 12. Flowers (necessary if you
E are invading the space of your
significant other)
Step 2:Gather Tools and Supplies
Gather the tools you will need for
the project:
● Screwdriver (for slotted and
Phillips head screws)
● Wire cutters and strippers
● Needle-nosed pliers
● Utility knife
● Small flashlight
● Adjustable wrench
● Small container to hold
screws
● Heat sink compound
● Grounding Strap
Step 3:Open the Case
To open the case by removing
the side panels, and the side
panel has crews so you have to
unscrew it.
Step 4:Prepare the Case for Assembly
Prepare the case by
unpacking the materials and
the cables
Step 5:Ground Yourself
Wear the grounding strap then
connect it or put the end of it on
the metal part of the system unit
to prevent any buildup of static
electricity on your body from
damaging the computer
components.
Step 6:Install Motherboard
Install the CD manual, I/O
bezel, SATA cables,
motherboard.
Step 7:Install Hard Drive
To install the hard drive just
slide it then screw it.
Step 8:Install Optical Drive
Like installing hard drive, just
slide it then screw it.
Step 9:Install the CPU
Just place it carefully, the
connect it to the computer.
Step 10:Install RAM
Make sure that the RAM is
compatible with your
computer then install it
just like what you do when
installing the CPU
Step 11:Install the CPU Fan
Place it adjacent to the CPU,
then screw it.
Step 12:Install Case Fan
Insert the fan to its place, it
should be located in the side
where there are holes, then
screw it
Step 13:Install Power Supply
To install the power supply,
that supplies power in every
computer equipments you
just have to place then screw
it.
Step 14:Connect Cables
Just connect all the cables,
just make sure that it is the
right cable that you are
connecting.
Step 15:Wrap-up
Just cover or install it
again by connecting the
side panels then screw it.

asy-Steps-and-/
Step 1:Unplugging
So before touching anything,
we should unplug first all the
cable that is connected to the
computer and also wear a
grounding strap to avoid
accident when touching
electronic equipments.
Step 2:The Casing
We should unwrap or open the
cover of the system unit, then
just place it somewhere.
Step 3:The Power Supply
The power supply is the large
box, it supplies to every
component of the computer,
that was why it has so many
wires connected to the
components of the computer,
just unplug every wire then
unscrew the one that holds the
power supply.
Step 4:CD/DVD Drive
push the gray metal and pull
out the drive
Step 5:System Fan
It is connected to the
motherboard, so unplug it
first then, it is labeled
"SYS_FAN1". Unscrew the
fan then lift it out of the
computer.
Step 6: CPU Fan
First is just unplug the
CPU fan from the
motherboard, then
unscrew it from the CPU
heatsink because it is
connected to it.
Step 7:Hard Drive and Floppy Disk
Just remove the metal
casing.
Step 8:The Power Switch
To remove the power switch
you will need to just push it
from the back, the side with
the wire.
Step 9:RAM (Random Access Memory)
So the RAM is responsible for
the running programs, so it
means that if you have higher
RAM you can have better
experience while using the
computer, to remove it, just
push it down but be careful.
Step 10:CPU
It is considered as the brain
of the computer, so you
should hold it carefully and
remove it by working the
lever.
Step 11:Heat Sinker
Take out the heat sink
through the lever, handle
with care.
Step 12:The Motherboard
It has seven screws, just
unscrew it, then just lift it out
of the computer.
Done!!
