Unit 13 Worksheet, Transformations

This document contains a mathematics assignment on transformations of 2D shapes. It includes 10 multiple choice questions asking students to reflect, rotate, find lines of symmetry, scale, and enlarge various shapes. An extension question asks students to translate a triangle by translating it 8 squares right and 1 square down. The assignment provides practice with fundamental geometric transformations and is the last part of a unit on the topic for a second semester class.

Q4) Reflect the following shapes through the given mirror line:

Q5) Find the mirror line used to reflect the original shape into the given one:

Q6) Write down the order of rotational symmetry of the following signs:

3
Q7) Rotate the following shapes through the given information (center of
rotation, angle, and direction):

Q8) Write the number of lines of symmetry of the following signs, and draw:

4
Q9) Find the scale factor used to enlarge the smaller shape into the larger one:

Q10) Enlarge the following shapes using the given information (scale factor and
center of enlargement):

5
Extension question:

A translation in math moves a shape left or right and/or up or down. The

translated shapes look exactly the same size as the original shape, and
hence the shapes are congruent (identical) to each other. They just have
been shifted in one or more directions.

Q11) Translate triangle C by 8 squares right, and 1 square down.
