We, the students of Dr. Pillai global academy are here to present an skit on the topic "zero
hunger" in order to encourage you and spread awareness to respect food and stop wasting it by
knowing why not to waste food.
Everyone :- food wastage??!! But How?
Narrator :- We all know that on 16th October we celebrate World Food Day. Now let us all see
this small skit as well to understand and answer this question.

CHILD : mon I am back from school!

MOM : sure, but how are you so hungry? Did you not finish your lunch box at school today?

CHILD :- ooh who eats tiffin??!! My friends and I had chips and biscuits.

MOM :- you again did not have your lunch? This is wrong! I have to throw away the remaining
food everyday!

everyone:- Respect food! Do not throw food items, donate it to the hungry!

Scene 2:-

Culinarian:- good morning! I am Gelato Galore!

Client :- good morning! Good morning! Hurry up, it's my daughter's wedding!

Culinarian :- sir, please tell me how many people I have to cook for?

Client :- Do one thing, the family members and the guests together , are a total of 400 people
coming! you cook for 600 people!

culinarian :- sir, but this way the food will get wasted!

Client:- I don't care if the food get wasted or If it gets staled! Why do I have to care! My only aim
is that it shouldn't be less for anyone! Atlast I also have some reputation in this society!

Culinarian :- alright sir!

Scene 3:-
Everyone sings the birthday song

Birthday boy- thank you all!!


Sam - bro it's your birthday! Where's the party?

Birthday Boy- ofcourse we will have fun, but first let's have a feast in a 5-star hotel!

Everyone- yayy!!!

# (we start cutting the cake and sam squashes the cake on birthday boy’s face in a friendly
manner )#

Birthday boy (Som)- waiter! Serve us the food! FRIENDS have all the feast to your heart's
content after all its MY birthday!!

Everyone- oh we are so full

Birthday boy -(confused) oh! you guys actually didn't eat much, anyways it's fine , let's go
somewhere else to hangout !

Narrator:- Enough!! Now we can't stand it anymore, you guys have wasted so much food , this is
not right at all!!

Birthday boy- excuse me? I have paid for this food, we are not eating for free!

Everyone- absolutely right!!! (in loud sarcastic voice)

Narrator(sajiri) - the money can be yours but the resources belong to the country and you have
no right to waste it the way YOU want!!

Everyone:-
"On one hand is the wastage of food and on the other hand is the population of hunger !"

"On one hand is the wastage of food and on the other hand is the population of hungry!"

Narrator(mishika):- Did you guys understand what was common in all the three scenes?
Well, the common thing in all these scenes was that here the food was getting wasted!

Everyone: food is getting wasted?? How but?? How?

Narrator(avni):- we Indians come from a culture where wasting food is considered a sin and
Where food is given the status of God! And now all this is happening in our country itself?!

Some slogan—----
2nd narrator:- There is a lot to worry about here. It is true that India's population is increasing
but even here it is true that People are also becoming relatively modest about food! Also
wasting of food is increasing by time!

Narrator 3- Also today, India is considered as 27th country in the world hunger association list,
and did you know that everyday one-third of the food that is made is wasted.

Narrator 4- Also, even after over 2.5 billions of food produced in the country today, when
surveyed it shows that there are still over one-fourth of the people sleeping hungry each night :(
