About This Template
This template provides a way to create a simple project schedule. It is based on the "Simple Gantt Chart" by Vertex42.com but
uses the built-in Gantt View feature in spreadsheet.com rather than the cell-based view commonly used in other spreadsheet
software. Enter your tasks and start dates and either enter the end date or the duration of each task. More advanced features
available via the Project Management settings, such as defining work days or creating dependencies using predecessors.
Unique Spreadsheet.com features: This template uses the Gantt View and Project Management features. It also uses the Inde
feature, which automatically calculates the overall percent complete if a task has sub-tasks.
Instructions and Notes
See the following page for information about using the Gantt View in spreadsheet.com:
https://support.spreadsheet.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403340428692-Introduction-to-Project-Management-and-Gantt-Views
• The color of the bars in the Gantt View are based on the colors chosen for the options in the Status column. You can update
options and colors in the Status column to customize how you want bars to be color-coded.
• Formulas cannot be used within the Project Management columns (Start date, End date, Status, etc.). To create task
dependencies you can turn on the Predecessors function in the Project Management settings.
• Use the Indent feature for sub-tasks. This will allow the % Complete to be calculated automatically for higher level tasks.
• If you want to display a diamond character for a milestone, set the duration to 0 days.
• Experiment with the display options in the Gantt Chart view using the project management settings in the toolbar.
