Recall
Psychoanalysis is an approach that focuses on the unconscious mind. The
unconscious mind is a collection of the ideas, urges, and emotions that are
deep seated or repressed and that we are not aware of. According to
psychoanalysis,ourbehaviorandpersonalitygetinfluencedbytheunconscious
mind without us being aware of it. The unconscious mind refers to a

According to Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, there exists an
ongoing conflict within an individual’s mind, which comes from the three
componentsinteractingwithoneanother:theid,ego,andsuperego.
The id is considered the first component of the mind in psychoanalysis. It is
also believed to be the first to develop. The id is often linked to sex and
aggression and aims to satisfy one’s desires. Therefore, it is said to operate
basedonthepleasureprinciple.
Freud considers the ego as the second component. Itisbelievedtonegotiate
