COT Science

The daily lesson plan discusses teaching students about conductors and insulators of heat and electricity. The objectives are for students to understand how different objects interact with light, sound, heat and electricity. Students will learn to identify good conductors of heat and electricity through interactive activities like games and group work. They will classify objects as conductors or insulators by testing how fast they absorb heat in water. The lesson aims to explain that metals are good conductors while plastics and wood are insulators.

Inquiry Based-Approach

Questions about the video presentation

1.What is the video all about?

2.What is a conductor?
3.What is an insulator?
4.Why are solid materials are considered better conductors than liquid and
gas?
5.Why are some materials good conductors of heat and electricity?

A conductor is an object that allows energy (like heat and electricity) to

travel through it easily. Metal is a great conductor, that is why we use it for
pans.

Poor conductors are objects that heat energy does not travel well through.
We call these insulators.

Wood, cloth, plastic and rubber are insulators because they do not allow
energy to pass through them easily. That is why they are used for things
like pot holders and handles, so that you do not burn yourself.
ELABORATION
Learn more about the conductors of heat and electricity by arranging the
jumbled letters in each sentence.

3.It is a commonly used metal in electrical wires because of its high
conductivity. (Ceppor)

presence of (wetra) and mineral.
Family Feud Game
The learners will be divided into two groups. Each team faces the other in a
