and materials, as well as the functionality of the tools and equipment to be used for
tomorrow’s assessment.

I am KENNETH P LAGUTANG, your accredited competency assessor in DRIVING
NCII. Here is my identification card as proof of my accreditation and letter of
appointment from the assessment center. (wears ID)
My role as your assessor is to observe and to collect evidences during assessment
and determine whether you are competent or not yet competent.

Assessor: Candidates, you don’t have to worry about their presence, they are not here to
assess you, instead they are here to oversee the competency assessment and ensure
compliance with prescribed methodology and procedures.
Yesterday, I visited the assessment center to check if the assessment area is safe
for assessment.
The assessment tools, equipment’s and materials are ready and complete.

Before I start the orientation, let me first check the attendance. As I call your

Assessor: So, I have here with me your accomplished application forms and self-
assessment guide. This is an indication that you know and you can perform all the Units
of Competency enumerated for DRIVING NC2 .
I see also that you have signed the consent form, so you are aware that all
assessment activities are recorded by CCTV with audio for documentation and other
purposes.
II. ORIENTATION PROPER
Assessor: I welcome you again to Passionist Technological Institute, Incorporated.
Today, I will administer Competency Assessment for DRIVING NC2. Why do we
need to be assessed?
Assessor: It is mandatory for all TECHVOC Graduates to undergo National Assessment
1. To determine the level of your competence in your qualification.
2. for promotion
3. for certification
4. for employment
Assessor: The context of the assessment is a simulation of the activities done in the
actual workplace. We are going to conduct our assessment in that area, and those are
the tools and equipment to be used in your assessment.
The qualification for DRIVING NC2 is composed of Basic, Common, and Core
Competencies. For our CORE COMPETENCIES, we have:
CARRY OUT MINOR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING
DRIVE LIGHT VEHICLE
OBEY AND OBSERVE TRAFFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS
IMPLEMENT AND COORDINATE ACCIDENT-EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
DRIVING NCII belongs to clustered based.
We have our 4 UC’s right?
If you fail on one UC, the rest of the Unit of Competency you will still be considering as a
competent. Meaning, only the UC where you fail, you will undergo again the process of
assessment if you reapply to be considered as competent for the qualification in
DRIVING NCII.

A. ASSESSMENT METHODS
To determine your knowledge and skills in DRIVING NC2, we have three assessment
methods to be used.
First is the written test got 50 items, second demonstration which will take 4
hours to perform the entire tasks, Lastly is the oral interview.
These assessment methods will help measure your underpinning knowledge, skills
and attitude.
B. ALLOWABLE ADJUSTMENTS
For your personal needs, the comfort room is located near the Service
Support Area of this assessment venue. You can also take your meal at the canteen
in left side of this venue
If you have difficulties in understanding the given instructions, just inform
me and I am willing to translate it for you.
Those candidates, who have issues with their health, please call my
attention so that we can address it immediately.
Once the assessment has started please refrain from asking questions about
the tasks or procedures that you are performing.
C. RIGHT TO APPEAL
After the assessment, if you are not satisfied with the result you have
the right to appeal.
You can write a letter duly notarized in 24 hours to the AC manager. If
you are not satisfied with the result of the investigation, you may raise complaint to
the TESDA provincial office located at Salinda st. GSNSAT Compound Barangay
Lagao GSC. If still not, you may proceed to the regional office at Koronadal City or
still if not, you may go to the central office at Taguig City.
D. OHS
During the assessment, please observe Occupational Health and Safety in
performing your task. In case of accident, please inform me so that we can give
you first aid. Our medicine cabinet is on left side of the venue. I will only stop the
assessment if there is an imminent danger resulting to injury, loss of property or
life.

E. DO’S AND DON’TS
Cellphone is not allowed inside the assessment center. NO RECORDNING ALLOWED
You are not allowed to go out in the venue while the assessment is going on.
F. RESULT OF ASSESSMENT
With regards to the result of your assessment, we observe strict confidentiality to
ensure your integrity. Results will only be given to the concerned individual or to the
institution where you had your actual training.
All the assessment packages are also secured. Please refrain from giving any forms
of information outside that took place during the assessment process. You are not
allowed to take pictures of the assessment package.
If you complete all the competency and the result is competent you should affix
your signature in your rating sheet as well as in your Competency Assessment
Result Summary (CARS). The assessment center manager will sign your CARS
and distribute it at the holding area. And he will explain to you the E-Certificate
process for your National Certificate.
However, if you found out that you’re not yet competent, don’t worry about it
because you can be re-assessed at your own convenience.
In case of re-assessment, since this is a CLUSTER type qualification, if your
NOT YET COMPETENT on any of the UCs, you can undergo again the specific UCs
where you didn’t pass, and it wont affect the rest of the UCs.
As a candidate, you can come back any time in your convenience for
reassessment when you are ready that you have acquired the competence.
III. LAST PART OF ORIENTATION
Assessor: Do you have any questions? If everything is clear, let us now proceed to the
Assessment Area.
IV. COLLECT EVIDENCE AND MAKE THE ASSESSMENT DECISION. (Find a # in
your ID)
Take your seat, and this is your written test. There are 50 items. I will give you 1 hour
for this. After you finish, you may go to the plenary area and wait for my further
instructions.

As a candidate, you can come back any time in your convenience for reassessment when
you are ready that you have acquired the competence.
You will only be reassessed on the competency that you we’re found not yet competent.
For your re-assessment, you can go again to the nearest Assessment Center. Just bring
the assessment result and the assessment fee, and wait for the schedule.
