OIETC Speaking Part-1: Sample Questions

• Q-1: Do you hear me or can you hear me?

• Q-2. What’s your name?

Then the Examiner will explain there are 3 parts of the test.
You will have basic question in part 1, second presentation and on third part you will
be talking about your writing.

• Q5: Where are you from or where do you live? // Tell me about your city?
Answer: I live in Sylhet which is northeastern part of Bangladesh, on the bank of
Surami River. It’s well known for its spiritual and natural beauty. Sylhet has a
subtropical climate and population over half a million. The city produces the
highest amount of tea and gas in the country which contribute a huge impact of
our economic growth. It’s famous for tourist spots like tea garden Jaflong, white
stone river, Bisnakhandi, mangrove forest. Specially, winter season is the best
time for tourists here.
Dhaka: I live in Dhaka and it is the capital of Bangladesh. It is the largest city in
our country and is known for its economy, tourist spots and heritage. Dhaka has
history everywhere like The National Martyr’s Monument, the Central Shaheed
Minar, which are the historical monuments of our country and also The Ahsan
manzil and the Lalbagh fort which are the historical places of our country. There
are many museums to visit. like the liberation war museum or the military
museum. Dhaka is also famous for its variety of food.
• Q6. What is the different between your city and London city?
Answer: Well, the general/principle difference I could say is I live in a 3rd world
city of a developing country whereas London is a first world city and in a
developed country. It has lots of facilities which are not/that are not available in
my city. London has world class Universities, Hospitals, Good communication
systems etc.
• Q6. What is OIETC? And Why are you taking this test?
Answer: OIETC stands for Oxford International English Test Centre who takes
the English proficiency test called ELLT, which is a 100% online based exam
alternative to IELTS. OIETC provides the proficiency level of English for
entering/to enter into UK universities.
• Q7. Do you love travelling? If I give you free ticket with accommodation
where will you go and why?
Answer: I do love travelling. If I get such a chance, I will love to go to Cox’s
Bazar, which is located on the shores of the Bay of Bengal in southern
Bangladesh. Because it is renowned for its beauty and considered the largest
sea beach in the world. Stretching for 120 kilometers, it attracts thousands of
tourists from around the world each year. The beach is famous for its sunrise and
sunset views and its diverse marine life, making it a must-visit for all nature
enthusiasts.
• Q8. What do you do? Are you working or studying?
Answer: I am a student. I have completed graduation last year and wising to do
master’s in business management/Political Science in the UK.
• Q9. Why do you want to study in the UK?
Answer: UK gives Access to top universities and world-class innovative teaching.

Answer: Well, I want to study at Greenwich University because of its great quality
teachings provided by expert teachers. As much as the city diversity will enhance
learning process, natural beauty, communication, environment, security system
made me feel to study in Greenwich University.
• Q11. Which university you want to study? Where is it?
Answer: Greenwich University, it’s located in London.
• Q12. What you want to study in the UK?
Answer: I want to study master’s on business management.
• Q13. Why do you choose this subject or tell me about business
management?
Answer: Business management focuses on the organizing, planning, analyzing
business activities that are required to efficiently manage and run a business. I
chose business management because I have a good knowledge of business as
well as communication and marketing skills. Once I complete my degree with
practical experiences I expect to become a successful businessman.
• Q14. What would you like to do in future or what you want to be in future?
What will you do after finishing your study?
Answer: I would like to be the head of Business Manager at Grameen Phone
Limited because of its reputation in my country. They provide high salary as well
as there are lots of opportunities that come along while working with this
company such as free accommodation, car facilities, yearly tour in different
places etc.
Another Answer: Actually, my father is a businessman and I help him
sometimes so I have a good knowledge of business. Therefore when I complete
my course, I wish to come back to my country and start my own business. It will
be exciting to hear people calling/addressing me as a business.
• Q15. What kind of business?
Answer: I want to open a restaurant because nowadays restaurants business is
very booming and profitable as well. So, I have a good knowledge and
experiences on working in restaurant.
Another Answer: Well, my father is a businessman and I help him sometimes so I
have a good knowledge of business .Therefore when I completed my course ,I
will come to my country and open my own business .People will call me as a
businessman that would be excited.
• Q16. Do you like your job and how many hour do you work?
Answer: Obviously I like my job and I work part time, which is 20 hours a week.
• Q17. What do you like the most at your work place? What facilities do you
have at the work place?
Answer: I like the responsibility and punctuality of my colleagues at the work
place. Other than that, there are many facilities such as cool environment, a good
salary, gathering new experience, and meeting new people.
• Q19. What is your city famous for? What facilities do you have in your city?
Tell me something about your city?
Answer: My city is one of the nicest, beautiful, clean and peaceful town in
Bangladesh. There are many interesting places in my city such as Zoo, park,
movie theatre and museum. There is a famous tourist spot names Jaflong and
you can also find lots of white stone and crystal-clear water. There is a tea
garden which is green, calm and beautiful and main attraction for the tourists.
Apart from this there is an entertainment park for the young named Dream Land
Park. There is an international stadium and an international airport which
increases the important of my city, Sylhet.
• Q20. What do you do in your leisure time or in your free time?
Answer: I keep doing so many things in my leisure time, which are mostly
watching tv, listening to music, using internet, chit-chatting with friends on
Facebook.
• Q21. Why you want to study in UK ?
• Answer: I had a dream since my childhood to study in UK. Uk is one of nice
beautiful country in the world. Uk Universities provide high quality education,
excellent teaching, a calm environment with tons of learning opportunity. Uk
qualification are recognized and valued highly all over the world. Uk is my
desirable place to live with high quality education, good transportation, politics,
culture, environment etc. Uk University provides practical course rather than
theoretical course. That’s why I chose to study in The UK.
• Q22. Why you are not studying in Bangladesh?
Answer: Well, UK university provides practical course rather than theoretical
which helps student to learn effectively during study, they also provides high
quality education, excellent teaching and a calm environment with tons of
learning opportunities as well. Whereas, In my country those facilities are very
few compared to UK education.
• Q23. Why would you suggest tourist to visit your city?
Answer: I would suggest tourists to visit my city because…………..

Answer: Mostly we use public transportations and there are people who use
private cars too. The public transports include rickshaw, cng, bikes and cars too.

Answer: No, I have not visited UK before. / No, I never went to UK.
• Q27. Which country you would like to travel in future?
Answer: It’s UK because it’s one of my dream countries which I was wishing to
visit since my childhood. It’s beautiful, has established democracy, great
communication, mostly the education system attracts me to visit UK. There are
also two famous universities in UK which is Oxford and Cambridge. I have
dreamt to study in UK since my childhood as well.
• Q28. Tell me about your house?
Answer: Well my house is a two stored building, wonderfully decorated and
furnished according to my fathers’ plan. There are 3 bed room, one living room,
one kitchen, four washrooms and a magnificent garden at the rooftop. It’s
surrounded by varieties of plants too.
• Q29. What is your favorite hobby?
Answer: My favorite hobby is cooking. Other than that, I love playing guitar and
piano.

Answer: After I complete my course I will get back to my country and I will try to

Answer: In the last weekend I went to my home, had some quality time with my
family. Oh yeah, I had also attended a picnic and had a lot of fun.
