ABSTRACT
This report includes the work performance and knowledge acquired by me at
CFPM INDUSTRIES. In the report I have described different products of the
company like motor, flour mill, oil mill, mixer grinder etc. This report also includes
the information about different types machine use at the company and various
processes done on each machine. I had described about manufacturing of motor and
flour mills. I have reported activities and experience acquired by me during the
internship. In these two weeks of internship I have done study of manufacturing of
different types of motors and mills.

CHAPTER 2: ABOUT INTERNSHIP
1)MOTOR
Study Different parts of Motor:
Figure 1 : different parts of induction motor
o Stator Frame
o Stator core
o Stator Winding
o Rotor core
o Shaft
o Cooling Fan
o Fan cover
o Terminal Box
[8]
o Bearings
Study the function of each part:
1) Stator Frame
A stator frame is provided to support the stator
core
The main function of this core is to hold the
irregular magnetic field which generates losses
like eddy current & hysteresis.
The frame of an induction motor is made up
of closed grained cast iron. Figure 2:Stator frame
2) Stator core
Its main function is to carry the alternating
magnetic field
The stator core uses an isolated thin silicon
steel plate that consists of oxide and varnish.
Therefore, the hysteresis loss and eddy
current loss in the inner magnetic material can be
minimized.
Figure 3: stator core
3) Stator winding
the stator field winding generates a strong magnetic
field to drive the rotating rotor, producing the
working motion.
The stator coils are normally made of copper; round
conductors of many turns per coil.
Figure 4:stator winding
[9]
4) Rotor core
The function of the rotor in an electric motor
is to drive the mechanical load, which is
attached to the rotor shaft.
An alternator rotor is made up of a wire coil
enveloped around an iron core. The magnetic
component of the rotor is made from steel
laminations to aid stamping conductor slots
to specific shapes and sizes.
Figure 5:rotor core
5) Cooling Fan
A cooling fan is usually installed on the
opposite end of the output shaft. The cooling
fan rotates with the motor. The purpose of a
cooling fan is to provide increased airflow to
the motors while rotating.
Fans are usually of the bi-directional type
and made of a strong plastic material,
aluminum, or steel.
Figure 6: cooling fan
6) Fan Cover
Fan cover is used to provide a physical
barrier around spinning fan blades to prevent
accidental contact with fingers or other
objects.
They are typically constructed using metal
[10]
or plastic.
Figure 7:fan cover
7) Terminal Box
The terminal box is responsible
for the electricity supply of the
electric motor.
Figure 8:terminal box
8) Bearings
Bearings perform the function of preventing
damage from being done by this force to the
part that supports the rotation, and also of
maintaining the correct position of the rotating
shaft.
