Linear Algebra: System of linear equations:
System of Linear Equations:
linear system is consistent if it has one or infinite solutions.
A system has one unique solution if all lines or planes are intersecting at a one common point.
A system has infinite solutions if all planes are intersecting at a one common line or all planes are
coincident to each other
linear system is inconsistent if it has no solutions. i.e no common intersection point, line or plane.
Solving System of Equations by
Gaussian Elimination Method:
1. Write the given system of equations in an augmented matrix form.
2. Reduce the matrix in Row Echelon form by using Row Operations.
3. Rewrite the equation from reduced matrix.
4. Use back-substitution to find the solution.
Gauss Jordan Elimination Method:
1. Write the given system of equations in an augmented matrix form.
2. Reduce the matrix in Reduced Row Echelon form by using Row Operations.
3. Resulting Equations yields the solution directly. No back substitution is required.
