QUARTER 1ST QUARTER
I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson the students are expected
to:
● Differentiate between heat and
temperature in molecular level;
● Discuss the properties of heat and
temperature in molecular level;
● Describe the hotness and coldness of an
object in terms of its temperature.
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of
Heat and Temperature and the Effects of Heat
B. Performance Standards The learners should be able to compare the
changes in the temperature of water to determine
the relationship between the amount of heat
transferred and the resulting temperature change.
C. Learning Competencies ● Explain thermal expansion; and
● Discuss specific heat capacity.

the new lesson Activity 1: HEAT WORD SEARCH
To assess the prior knowledge of the students,
below is a word search puzzle. Find the words
related to heat and temperature. The words may
be written horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

E. Discussing new concepts and knowledge
and practicing skills #2
F. Developing mastery (leads to formative EXPLAIN
Assessment) The teacher will discuss the topic and explain the
concepts associated with the student’s
exploration.
G. Finding practical application of concepts ELABORATE
and skills in daily living Activity 4: HEAT AND PHASE CHANGE
Use the figure to determine whether each
statement is correct or not. Write TRUE if the
statement is correct, and FALSE if the statement
is wrong. Then, answer the following questions.
H. Making generalizations and abstractions EXTEND
about the lesson Activity 5: UNITS OF TEMPERATURE
I. Evaluating learning EVALUATE
After the discussion, the understanding of the
learners will be assessed after taking the short
quiz.
Activity 6:
J. Additional activities for applications and Assignment
remediation
VI. REMARKS
