DEPARTMENTAL GAMES
1. ROPE RELAY
Objective: Teams race to complete a relay by passing a rope or rubber band
between members while moving from the starting line to the finish line.
Materials:
• Long ropes or rubber bands (one per team)
Mechanics:
1. Divide participants into teams of 5-8 members.
2. Each team is given a long rope or rubber band. Teams line up behind
the starting line.
3. On the signal to start, the first team member holds the rope or rubber
band and runs to the designated finish line area.
4. At the finish line, they must pass the rope or rubber band to the next
team member.
5. The next member then runs back to the starting line, and the process
repeats until all team members have completed their run.
Rules:
1. The rope or rubber band must be continuously held and passed
between team members.
2. If the rope or rubber band is dropped, the team must stop and pick it
up before continuing.
3. The first team to have all members complete the relay and cross the
finish line wins.
2. TRAIN BALLOON
Objective: Teams must move a balloon from start to finish without using their
hands, keeping it between their bodies like a "train."
Materials:
• Balloons (one per team)
Mechanics:
1. Divide participants into teams of 5-8 members.
2. Each team lines up in a straight line, facing forward.
3. Place a balloon between the back of the first person and the chest of the
second person in the line, and so on, forming a "train."
4. The team must move from the starting line to the finish line while keeping
the balloon between them, without using their hands.
5. If the balloon drops or pops, the team must return to the start and begin
again.
6. The first team to reach the finish line with the balloon intact wins.
3. UNITY BALANCE
Objective: Teams work together to maintain balance on a small platform while
carrying a bottle on a piece of yarn with a carton in the middle, and reach the
finish line without dropping the bottle.
Materials:
• A small, sturdy platform or board (one for each team)
• Yarn with a carton (e.g., a small piece of cardboard) attached in the middle
• Bottles (one per team)
Mechanics:
1. Divide participants into teams of 5-8 members.
2. Each team is provided with a small platform just large enough for all team
members to stand on closely together.
3. Attach a bottle to the middle of a piece of yarn using a small carton as a
base.
4. While standing on the platform, team members must hold the ends of the
yarn, keeping the bottle balanced on the carton in the middle.
5. The team must then move from the starting line to the finish line,
maintaining balance on the platform and ensuring the bottle does not fall.
6. If the team loses balance, steps off the platform, or drops the bottle, they
must return to the start and try again.
7. The first team to reach the finish line with the bottle still balanced wins.
4.Guess Whoat?
Objective: Individual participants guess a word or phrase based on random
questions asked about it.
Materials:
• Cards with words or phrases written on them (these could be common
objects, actions, or famous people)
• Timer or stopwatch
5. Charades with a Twist (TikTok Edition)
Objective: Teams guess a TikTok dance based on silent acting, and to win, they
must perform the dance themselves.
Materials:
• Cards with popular TikTok dances written on them
Mechanics:
1. Divide participants into teams of 5-6 members.
2. One team member is selected to silently act out a TikTok dance from a card
without speaking or using music.
3. The remaining team members have a limited amount of time (e.g., 1 minute)
to guess the TikTok dance.
4. Twist: If the team guesses correctly, they must then perform the dance
together to earn the point.
5. The team with the most points after all members have had a turn acting and
dancing win
6. The Boat is Sinking
Objective: Players must work together to prevent their boat from sinking by
completing tasks or solving problems before time runs out or specific
conditions are met.
Materials:
• None
Mechanics:
1. The contestants must form random groupings based on a number given by
the host
2. The game can be played with one person as the captain and everyone else as
crew
3. The captain says “The boat is sinking” so each lifeboat can hold 15 people
to group themselves
4. Group yourselves!” The crew must group themselves into whatever number
the captain says.
5. The group/s with the incorrect number will automatically get eliminated
7. Bring me
Objective: The goals or targets players strive to achieve within a game. They
provide direction and purpose and guide players through the gameplay experience.
Materials:
• Calculator
• Phone with wallpaper ng jowa
• Purple tumbler
• Blue handkerchief
• Nail cutter
• Id
• Pencil case
• White hair
• Black umbrella
• White socks
Mechanics:
1. The host will call out or give different objects in the game
2. They will range from simple to complex objects that create depth and
strategy for each player.
3. The first person or team to bring the object to the host in front will be the
winner
8. Trip to Jerusalem
Objective: Players aim to find and sit in a chair when the music stops. The goal is
to avoid being the last one standing without a chair.
Materials:
• Chairs
Mechanics:
1. They will arrange chairs in a circle, one fewer than the number of players
depending on the number of players
2. The music will play while players dance around the chairs in a circle. The
music acts as the game’s timer.
3. When the music stops, players must quickly find and sit in a chair.
4. As chairs are removed, players must adapt their strategy to secure a seat.
5. The player left standing is eliminated
6. The game continues until only one player remains, who is declared the
winner.
9. Don’t drop the balloon
Objective: The goal is to keep the balloon(s) from touching the ground. Players
must use any part of their body (except their hands in some variations) to keep the
balloon in the air.
Materials:
• Balloons
Mechanics:
1. Players stand or sit in a circle or a designated play area.
2. They are not allowed to use their hands, requiring them to use other body
parts like heads, knees, or feet.
3. Multiple balloons can be used to increase difficulty. Each balloon must be
kept in the air simultaneously.
4. If a balloon touches the ground, the player who last touched it or failed to
keep it in the air might be out.
5. The group wins if they can keep the balloon(s) in the air for a set time or
complete a challenge.
10. Bird box game
Objective: Players must complete tasks or navigate an environment while
blindfolded, relying on their other senses and teamwork to avoid obstacles or
achieve goals.
Materials:
• Facemask
• Handkerchief
Mechanics:
1. Players wear blindfolds using handkerchief or otherwise visually impaired to
simulate the challenge of navigating without sight.
2. They move through a designated area or board, which could be filled with
obstacles or challenges.
3. They rely on auditory cues, tactile feedback, or verbal instructions from
teammates. (animal sounds)
4. These could include finding on non-visual senses (hearing, touch) for
navigation and task completion in navigating through a maze.
5. Players often work in teams to guide each other, making communication and
coordination essential.
6. Players might have a set time limit to complete the tasks or reach their goals,
adding pressure and urgency to the game.
7. Points or rewards can be given for completing tasks, avoiding obstacles, or
reaching goals.
8. The game can have a competitive element where the team or player with the
highest score or fastest time wins.
