type polystyrene pipe insulation on all chilled water pipe
lines, fittings, valves, strainers, flexible joints, expansion
joints etc. Pipe insulation shall have a density not less than
25 kg/m3 and shall be as per drawing. The insulation shall
be supplied in two half rounds and shall be fixed on the
pipes with the help of adhesives.
Before installation pipe surface shall be cleaned and
approved type of adhesive shall be used. The adhesive
shall not react with insulation materials, water and
moisture. The insulation shall be covered with two layers
of polythene having a minimum thickness of 0.1 mm each
to make it vapor proof and one layer clothing with
necessary consumables. The over lapping edges of the
polythene covering shall be sealed off with the help of
adhesive tapes to make it vapor proof.

17.0 TESTING, COMMISSIONING & BALANCING: IN IN

After proper installation and certification the system shall be
tested, commissioned and balanced as per direction and
recommendation by the Manufacturer / Gastrolever Authority /
Consultant. Individual testing shall be done by running each
machine individually. System charging if required shall be
done with proper refrigerant after proper vacum and leak
testing.
Treated water shall be charged in water distribution system
through expansion tank. Chiller shall be tested and
commissioned as per recommendation of manufacturer.
Safety protection and cutouts shall be tested individually. After
satisfactory testing the system shall be run and balanced as
per drawing, direction and recommendation. Air and water
balancing shall be done as per drawing and direction.
Control shall be set properly to attain desire room temperature
and humidity. Response of control shall be tested. Pipe work
shall tested at a test pressure of 10 KG/cm2 for 24 hours with
no leakage. All testing tools and equipment shall be provided
by the Contractor. After completion of testing, commissioning
and balancing the contractor shall have to run the system for
fifteen (15) days upto the desired satisfaction.
After commissioning the system contractor has to train 3
(three) representatives of the Authority for operation and
maintenance for at least 30 days. All documents such as as
built drawings, testing report, catalogue, installation manual,
operation & maintenance manuals etc. as documentation shall
be submitted within 15 days to __________ Authority.

18.0 OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE IN TOTAL

and proper certification the Contractor shall have to run the
system and do the system maintenance work. During operation
and maintenance work, the Contractor shall have to depute 2
(two) person who have experience in this field a full time

representatives at site.
During operation and maintenance if any defects in installation
work is detected, shall be rectified by the contractor with his own
cost. All materials required during operation maintenance work
shall be supplied by the owner. Log book for one hourly record
shall be maintained by the Contractor and shall be submitted to
the owner.
