Parental Involvement and Student Academic Outcomes
Academic success is a dream for all stakeholders in education, especially
parents/guardians and teachers. Parents demonstrate their interest in their children's academic
success through both their financial investments and their involvement in their learners'
academics. Parental involvement positively improves a student’s social skills, enhances learner’s
participation in school, and increases their chances of graduating.

interact with their fellow students and teachers. Indeed, parental involvement not only enhances
students' academic performance but also fosters essential social skills that contribute to their
overall personal development and success.
Additionally, parental involvement enhances a learner’s participation in school, making
their learning an active experience. According to Nerea et al. (2024), families actively engaged
in their child's education at home positively influence students' level of participation in school.
This advantage, in turn, promotes the development of students' social-emotional competencies
needed to handle academic responsibilities. Parental involvement fosters a supportive
environment that strengthens both academic engagement and emotional resilience in students.
Lastly, parental involvement increases learners' chances of graduating.
Kantova (2024) notes that higher parental involvement is associated with an increased
probability of high school graduation. Parents’ involvement significantly improves their
children's academic outcomes or results, culminating in graduation. Parental involvement plays a

crucial role in enhancing academic success, ultimately leading to a higher likelihood of
graduation for students.
In conclusion, academic success and impressive outcomes are largely a function of
multiple factors, particularly parental involvement in student’s life and affairs. As noted in this
paper, learners’ experience in school is improved when their parents are actively involved in
their academic affairs. Improved social skills, enhanced school participation, and increased
chances of graduating are among the benefits of parental involvement in academic affairs.
