Utilities User Settings
In-Sight Vision Suite
Section 8 | Slide 3 Section 8 | Slide 4
This slide shows the Utilities that are available when using an In-Sight 3D-L4000. The User Settings dialog is used to configure users and their access capabilities on an In-
Sight device. This dialog is used to determine which users may log onto the device, use the
adapter of the product, as well as the changes they can make through the device’s web-
based HMI. Each In-Sight vision system has its own set of users, separate from every
other device on the network. If a user needs access to a particular device, they must know
a username and password that already exists on that device.
By default, every In-Sight device has one preconfigured user: admin, who has an Access
Level of Full. The Admin user defaults to a blank/empty password.
NOTE:
Only users with an Access Level of Full may add, delete, or modify users. However, the
default admin user cannot be renamed, its Access Level cannot be modified, and it
cannot be deleted, even with another user with Full access is configured on the device.
Each device can have a maximum of 64 users, of varying Access Levels
User Names are case sensitive and must be unique (there can be no duplicate user
names on the device)
The maximum length of a comment is 1024 characters

are still available. They cannot press the Connect button in the software to connect to a

Restart Backup
Section 8 | Slide 7 Section 8 | Slide 8
The Restart utility is used to remotely power cycle an In-Sight device. The Backup dialog is used to backup the selected device(s). A backup creates a file which
can be used to restore the device, containing all the necessary configurations and files to
replicate it.
NOTE:
Backup is only available if you are logged on the device with Full permission.
If multiple devices are selected for backup, but you do not have Full permission on all
the devices, then the backup will be performed only on the devices on which you have
Full permission. The rest of the devices will indicate that you have Invalid user
credentials.

operation is performed, In-Sight Vision Suite restores the selected device by duplicating the
In-Sight Utilities settings and the files stored in the selected backup file.
NOTE:
The In-Sight device must be Offline to perform a restore operation, with no user logged
in the device. In-Sight Vision Suite shows a warning pop-up message if the selected
device is Online, a user is connected to the device, or both.
Any job files on a device that have the same name as those in the backup file will be
overwritten by the job in the backup file.
Restore is only available if you are logged on the device with Full permission.
