Soft Skill for Professional Excellence
1. Motivation: A person’s motivation is a combination of his/her desire and
energy directed towards achieving a set goal. It infuses willingness for
action. Influencing someone’s motivation means getting to do what you
“want to be done”.
2. Interpersonal Skill: Interpersonal skills involve the ability to communicate
and build relationships with others. Often called ‘people skills’, they tend to
incorporate both our innate personality traits and how we have learned to
handle certain social situations. Effective interpersonal skills can help a
person during the job interview process, and can have a positive impact on
their career advancement.
Examples: Active listening, Teamwork, Responsibility
Dependability, Leadership, Motivation, Flexibility, Patience, Empathy.
3. Problem- solving Skill: Problem solving is the act of defining a problem,
determining the cause of the problem, identifying, prioritizing, and selecting
alternatives for a solution; and implementing a solution.
Steps involved in problem-solving:
Step 1: Identify, or find the problem
Step2: Explore, or define the problem
Step3: Set goals
Step 4: Look at alternatives
Step 5: Select the best solution
Step 6: Implement the solution
Step 7: Evaluate the solution
