Cut & Bend Reinforcement steel, PVC Shuttering, Plywood shuttering, wooden battens, bailer, tie
rod and Ready Mixed Concrete.

Plant, Machinery and Equipment

Adequate Concrete Pumps & Transit Mixers will be deployed.

2. Binding of Reinforcement Steel
3. Centring & Shuttering.
4. Pouring of Concrete

Preparatory Works

1. Pre- qualification of concrete supplier shall be done.

2. Approval of concrete mix design shall be taken for necessary grade of concrete M-35,M-30 &
M-25.
3. Submit request for inspection of structural members with Client / Client’s representative prior
to concreting works using Structural Work (Reinforcement / Concrete) Inspection Checklist.
4. Confirmation & submission of TC of steel at site.
5. Gohead from client representative for reinforcement binding after checking of casted starters
or ms welded cleat.
6. The concrete top level of the RCC to be casted shall be taken from related beam depth above.
7. Plumb bob to be used shall be made of mortar/concrete of 100mm dia and 150 mm depth
with the projected hook for hanging.
8. For hanging the plumb bob steel piano wire to be used.
9. Column to be supported by U rods which are already embedded on the horizontal concrete.

CURING

Reinforcement work

1. Work surface area should be cleaned prior to start of work. Any loose material, dust shall be
cleaned.
2. Longitudinal and transverse reinforcement will be tied as per drawing.
3. Side cover shall be maintained by providing suitable approved PVC cover blocks.
4. Reinforcement shall be used as specified in the GFC drawing with specified spacing.
5. For binding of steel 18 SWG MS binding wire will be used.
6. Gohead from client representative for column formwork after checking of completed
reinforcement.

Page 3 / 7
Form Work

1. Formwork for Sides to be of PVC Shuttering & Plywood Shuttering as per GFC drawing.
2. Set out the locations, Centre lines and levels for formwork along with reference lines.
3. Apply release agent on formwork surface evenly and thinly agent like form oil etc. as
approved by Client.
4. Erect the formwork by providing sufficient props and struts including necessary bracing.
5. Use scaffolding and staging arrangements.
6. Seal gaps in formwork to avoid leakage of grout, concrete, cement slurry (use form whenever
required)
7. Ensure checking for the required shape and dimensions as per GFC drawings.
8. Keys in horizontal direction shall be provided at construction joints so as to maintain the
recession.
9. Use the form strips around the starter
10. Gohead from client representative for column casting after checking of completed formwork
and safety measures.

Concreting Work

Concrete placement : 1) Proper staging 2) Proper pumping arrangement ( by piping, by crane etc)

After concreting, area should be cleaned / washed

Cube Sampling Frequency

Concrete cube samples will be taken as per standard frequency as per IS-456-2000.

Sl. No. Concrete Quantity Nos. of Sample set

1 0 – 5 Cum 01 Set
2 6 – 15 Cum 02 Set
3 16 – 30 Cum 03 Set
4 31 – 50 Cum 04 Set
5 After 50 Cum 01 Set for Every 50 Cum

Cube Testing Equipment:-

1. Compression Testing Machine
2. Weighing Machine

Cube Testing Procedure (as per IS-516-1959)

Page 4 / 7
Age of Tests shall be made at recognised ages of test specimen, the most usual being 7 and 28
days. At least three specimens preferably from different batches shall be made for testing at each
selected age.

Specimen stored in curing tank shall be tested immediately on removal from the curing tank and
while they are still in the wet condition. The bearing surface of the compression testing machine
shall be wiped clean and any loose sand or other material removed from the surface of the
specimen which are to be in contact with the compression paltens. In the case of cubes, the
specimen shall be placed in the machine in such a manner that the load shall be applied to
opposite sides of the cube s as cast, that is, not to the top and bottom. The axis of the specimen
shall be carefully aligned with the centre of thrust of the spherically seated platen. No packing
shall be used between the faces of the test specimen and the steel platen of the compression
testing machine. As the spherically seated block is brought to bear on the specimen, the movable
portion shall be rotated gently by hand so that uniform seating may be obtained. The load shall
be applied without shock and increased continuously at a rate of approximately 140 kg/sq
cm/min until the resistance of the specimen to the increasing load brake down and no greater
load can be sustained. The maximum load applied to the specimen shall then be recorded and
the appearance of the concrete and any unusual features in the type of failure shall be noted.

Calculation of Compressive Strength:-

The measured compressive strength of the specimen shall be calculated by dividing the maximum
load applied to the specimen during the test by the cross-sectional area. Average of three values
shall be taken as the representative of the batch provided the individual variation is not more
than plus or minus 15 percent of the average. Otherwise repeat tests shall be made.

Concrete Compaction Equipment:-

1. Electrical motor operated vibrator -02 Nos.

2. Vibrator needles 60 MM with sufficient length for bottom layer compaction-02 Nos.
3. Electrical motor operated vibrator -01 Nos. will be kept at site as stand by.
4. Vibrator needles 60 MM -01 Nos. will be kept at site as stand by.
5. Surface vibrator for specific requirement where normal needle couldn’t run through

Concrete Placing details:-

1. Mark the location of pour for concrete received on the delivery docket and checklist as
reference and identification.
2. Provide adequate equipment, machinery and manpower to carry out the concreting works.
3. Place concrete on required locations as planned by using concrete pumps and / or crane
assisted concrete buckets.
4. Place concrete from the lowest point to the final concrete level in one operation in horizontal
layers but the full thickness of the column shall be completed continually in a single pour.
5. Compact concrete by electrical vibrators of 60 or 40 mm needle sizes.

Curing

After the stripping time is over curing shall be done by wrapping hessian cloth around the column
and by sprinkling of water or applying curing compound as per technical specification.

Slump value at site: - Slump value of concrete at site will be maintained 120+/- 25 mm.

Concrete Rejection

Concrete will be rejected if it is reaching at site or pouring will be exit of 3hours also material will
be rejected of production. Or slump value is not meeting the required criteria. In case of concrete
rejected by Site QA/QC team, Vehicle no. of the same concrete will be noted and informed to the
engineer stationed at batching plant to check for repetition of same concrete.

Safety Precautions and Control Measures

The following are listed as the more significant hazards for which detailed risk assessment and
controls will be applied:
