Questions to ask the interviewer:

End your job interview by asking the interviewer one or two of the questions below to
create a high-impact exit. You’ll be perceived as memorable.
You are asking him/her these questions to bring them back into the conversation if they
have started drifting mentally and to end the interview on a high note.
If your interview has gone well, these bold questions to the interviewer will make them
sit up and take notice of you.

Q1. One year from today what would the new hire you’re interviewing for need to have
achieved to exceed all expectations?

Q2. What is the most unexpected thing you’ve learnt while working here?

Q3. Apart from people - what is your favorite part of working at this company?

Q4. What goals has your hiring manager set for you in the next one year and how can
this new hire help you achieve them?

Q5. Can you tell me of a time when a person was encouraged to step outside their job
description in this company?

Q6. If you could improve one thing about this company, what would it be?

Q7. You mentioned that this new hire would be tasked with X challenge. What has the
team already done to overcome that challenge and why hasn’t it worked?

Questions the interviewer will ask you:

Tip #1. Prepare answers to as many of the following questions as you can. Many of
these questions, or versions of them will be asked in addition to your domain specific
testing by the interviewer.
Tip #2. Use the S.T.A.R.T. technique as much as possible to answer questions within a
framework so that you are to the point and your answers seem logical.
S = Situation (give context to the answer by describing the situation)
T = Tasks (mention the task you were asked to do or took upon yourself)
A = Actions (what specific 2 – 3 action steps did you take)
R = Results (what was the result)
T = Takeaway (what were your key takeaways / learnings from this experience)

Basic Questions
Write your answers to the questions that may come up during your interview. Keep the
answers brief so that you can brush over them the night before the interview.

Q3. Explain how your academic training has prepared you for this role.
