I. Objectives
At the end of the 50-minute discussion, the Grade 3 pupils are expected
to do the following with at least 80% of accuracy:

a. identify the natural objects in the sky during daytime and nighttime;
b. draw the natural objects seen in the sky during daytime and nighttime; and
c. value the importance of the natural objects seen in the sky during daytime
and nighttime.

III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer

Will you all please stand up for our opening prayer children, lets
bow our heads and put ourselves in the presence of the lord.” Oh
God Almighty, behold us thy loving, children, offering thee today,
our works and studies. Help us lord, to be obedient, to our teachers,
kind to our companions, diligent in our work, and studies so that we
may merit thy blessings to ourselves, to our school and our beloved
country, The Philippines, Amen.
2. Greetings

Good morning class! (Good morning, Teacher) How are you class?
( We are fine. Thank you, how about you teacher?) I’m good class,
thank you for asking. Are you ready for our new topic for today?
(Yes teacher) Very good.

3. Checking of Attendance

Row leaders, kindly check your row mates if all of you are present
for today. Let’s start with row 1. ( We all present, teacher) How
about row 2? ( We are all present teacher). And the last one row 3.
(We are all present, teacher) Very good! All of you are present
today.

4. Setting of Standard

What are the things that we need to follow during our class
discussion? Give me one (Be quiet, teacher) okay, be quiet and
listen if someone or Teacher is talking here in front what else?
(participate, teacher) okay, participate. In participating, What should
we do? (Raise your right hand) very good! If you want to say
something just raise your right hand, no need to answer in chorus
because teacher will just acknowledge you eventually. Anything
else class? (Cooperate, teacher) Very good! If there’s a group
activity each and one of you should cooperate. Is there more to
add? (write down notes teacher) very good! The most important
thing that we should do is to write down the lesson that I will going
to discuss later. Can I expect it all from you class (yes, teacher)
very good!

5. Incentive Chart

Look at the board Children, what do you see? (three sky, teacher)
very good! This is what we call as an incentive chart. Each group
will represent the three sky. All you need to do is participate
throughout the discussion and answer all of my questions so you
will earn a points. understood class? (yes, teacher).

A. Engage

Teacher Nar prepared a riddles, so we have a game for today called a riddles, all
you have to do is to analyze, think and answer the riddles. Understood class?
(yes, teacher) Very good!.

The Riddles

1. You see it rise in the morning, and set when the day is done, it provide us with
light and heat. What Am I? (sun).
2. I am in the sky, I’m white, I’m round, but not , sometimes you see me but
sometimes you don’t. What Am I? (Moon).
3. I can be seen at night but I’m not the moon. What Am17 (Star)
4. I’m Colorful but I’m not a parrot. What Am I? (Rainbow).
5. I have no wings, but I can fly and I have no eye, but I can cry. What Am I?
(Cloud).

What have you observed on the game class, anyone? (hard and fun teacher)
okay! How about the answer of every riddles what have you observed? (The
different objects teacher) Very good! Who can give me one? (Sun, teacher) very
good, what else? (moon, teacher) very good! Another? (star, teacher) very good!
What else class? (Rainbow, teacher) very good, anything else class? (Clouds
teacher) okay, Very good.

B. Explore

Now, you are going to have a group activity. I am going to divide the Class into 3
groups. The Row 1 will be the group 1. The Row 2 will be the group 2. And the
Row 3 will be the group 3. I ‘am going to distribute to each group an envelope
which contains the materials that you are going to use. What you are going to do
is sort the objects to whether they belong to Daytime or Nighttime. After 10-
minute, you are going to post your output here in front for us to check If you got it
correct. Understood, children? (yes, teacher).
C. Explain

What did you observed on our activity earlier class? (Sorting different objects ,
teacher) very good! you sort the different objects whether they belong to Daytime
or Nighttime. What are the objects that belong to Daytime give me ore? (Sun,
teacher) Very good, when we can see the sun? (during the day when it is up in
the sky, teacher) very good, what the sun give us? (a lights, teacher) very good.
Sun is the Center of our solar system , sun also means the light or heat that the
earth receives from the star. How about the objects that we can see in night
time? give me one (moon teacher) very good! when we can see the moon?
anyone? (during night or evening, the moon rises in the evening and sets in the
morning, teacher) Very good! What the moon can give or provide? (a natural
light, teacher) very good! Moon the large round object that circle the earth and
that shine at night by reflecting light from the sun,. What else? (Star, teacher)
very good ! A star it is the natural luminous body
Visible in the sky especially at sight. Another object that you can see during
nighttime, any? (Shooting star, teacher) very good, we can also see a shooting
star. Shooting star- A small piece of rock or dust , it move so fast heat up and
glows as it moves throughout the atmosphere. How about the daytime what are
the other object that we can see, anyone? (Cloud, teacher) Very good, we can
also see a cloud. Cloud a visible mass particles of condensed vapor such as
water or ice. What else? (Rainbow, teacher) Very good! when we can see the
rainbow? (mostly teacher after the rain) Okay! Very good. Rainbow- an arc or
circle that exhibits in concentric band that colors of the spectrum and that is
formed opposite the sun by refraction and reflection of sun rays in raindrops.

Natural objects in the sky is very important for us humans. Is helped human

D. Elaborate

You are going to have another group activity. You are going to perform a role
play, on what you are doing during daytime and nighttime. The following task will
be assign to each group.

Group 1. Perform a role play on Daytime that you are going to school scenario.
Group 2. Perform a role play on Nighttime on how you are going to study or
doing home work scenario.
Group 3. Perform a role play on Daytime on how you are going to play an
outdoor game scenario.
