CLASS: IX
Time: 1 hour F.M.: 25

General Instructions:
1. All questions are compulsory.
2. Marks for each question are indicated against them.
3. SECTION A: 4 questions of 1 mark each (MCQs & Assertion-Reason).
4. SECTION B: 5 questions of 2 marks each (Short answer type).
5. SECTION C: 2 questions of 3 marks each (Application-based).
6. SECTION D: 1 long numerical-based question of 5 marks (with options).
7. Use proper units and formulas wherever necessary.
8. Diagrams should be drawn neatly wherever required.

SECTION A (1 × 4 = 4)
1. A body is moving in a circular path with uniform speed. Which of the following remains constant?
a) Velocity b) Acceleration c) Direction d) Speed (1 mark)
2. A car travels 60 km in 2 hours and then 90 km in the next 3 hours. What is the average speed of the car?
a) 25 km/h b) 30 km/h c) 35 km/h d) 40 km/h (1 mark)
3. A ball is dropped from a height of 20m. How long will it take to reach the ground? (Take g = 10 m/s²)
a) 2 s b) 3 s c) 4 s d) 5 s (1 mark)
4. Assertion-Reason Question (1 mark)
Assertion (A): A freely falling object has increasing velocity.
Reason (R): The acceleration due to gravity is acting upwards.
Choose the correct option:
a) Both A and R are true, and R is the correct explanation of A.
b) Both A and R are true, but R is not the correct explanation of A.
c) A is true, but R is false.
d) A is false, but R is true.
