i Learn & Share Activity: Practical Research 1
Overview
This performance task aims to develop the student’s critical thinking and analytical skills through the
development of a qualitative research paper. Additionally, it aims to increase their awareness and involvement
with relevant issues in their community, society, and the nation by tackling key issues in their environment.
It is important to note that although this activity is not threaded with any particular subject, it is
encouraged for students to collaborate with their Core or Specialized subjects that are conducting similar
activities.
Performance Task
“Research For A Cause: SDG – STI Development Goals”
Due to the increasing severity of global issues, the United Nations developed 17 sustainable development goals
(SDG) in 2015 to address these concerns. To achieve these goals, the Youth Force of the Philippines (YFP)
actively holds events in local communities to address these issues. With this, YFP is asking help from STI Senior
High School students to identify the issues in their local community. Your group has been tasked to conduct
qualitative research to be presented to representatives of YFP, UN, and the local community.
