residential area that has witnessed growth in recent years. It's a quieter place
compared to the busy parts of Hubli, offering a more relaxed. Unkalkere has
been developing, with better roads, water supply, and other infrastructure. The
lake is filled with fresh oxygen, greenery, open space, there are some parks in

which makes that place picnic spot.

Water Conservation in Unkalkere:

Harvesting:

The rain water that are collected in monsoon season are stored. Later this water
can be used as resource during dry or summer season.

Waste management:

In the lake there are lots of water hyacinth plants which makes the water
polluted as due to which the breathing of the fishes becomes difficult. The water
hyacinth plant absorbs the water from lake. The plants in the lake are removed
which makes the water less polluted. Those plants makes the water foul smell
that’s why the plant is removed.

The waste that has been taken out from the lake will be stored and until they are
dried and will be recycled.
