Assignment Title:
Task 1: If f: R→ Rand g: R→ R defined by f(x) = 2x+1 and g(x) = 3x+1.
(i) Find the functional values to the algebraic operations \frac{f}{g} \binom {x} ,
(fg)(x), fog(x), and gof(x) by explaining the way of performing operations. Show all
steps of calculations.
f/g (x) = f(x)/g(x) = 2x+1/3x+1
(fg) (x) = f(x) g(x) = (2x+1) (3x+1) = 6xsquared + 5x+1
F(g(x)) = f(3x+1) = 2(3x + 1) + 1 = 6x + 3
G(f(x)) = g(2x+1) = 3(2x + 1) +1 = 6x + 4
(ii) Are fg, fog, and gof equal? Please explain your answer.
Algebraic Operations
Fg(x) = 6xsquared + 5x + 1
f. g(x) = 6x + 3
g.f(x) = 6x + 4
(iii) Find the domain and ranges of each of the 4 operations. Explain the procedure
of finding the domain and range for each of above 4 operations.
3x + 1 = 0 ,,,,x= not equal to -1/3
Domain; R\(-1/3)
Domain of (fg)(x), f. g(x) and g. f(x):
All real numbers, as polynomials and compositions are defined x
Range:
.f/g(x); Depends on function behavior, more complex
.(fg)(x); Qudratic range is R.
.f.g(x) and g.f(x); Linear range is R

Task 2. In a cutting-edge greenhouse, an advanced climate digital control system is installed
based on a DC inverter that maintains the desired temperature in the green house. The system's
temperature control function is described by T(C) = \sqrt{ \frac{20C+15}{15C+16}
where T represents the temperature inside the greenhouse in degrees Celsius, and C represents
the desired control setting on the climate control system of DC inverter.
Based on that information, please provide answers to the following questions:
(i) Using the concept of the inverse function, determine the control setting (C) as a function of
greenhouse temperature (T). Please outline all the steps clearly.
Tsqured = 20C+15/15C+16
Tsquared(15C+16) = 20C+ 15
15Tsquared C + 16 Tsquared = 20 C + 15
15T squared 20 C= 15-16 Tsquared
C(15Tsquared 20) = 15=16 Tsquared
C= 15 16Tsquared/15Tsquared- 20
(ii)Discuss any practical limitations or considerations that may impact the functionality of the in-
verse function within the context of the greenhouse climate control system.
Physical Constraints: In practice, C must remain within the operational limits of the climate
system.
Algebraic Operations
Mathematical Validity: The denominator 15Tsquared 20 should not be zero to avoid unde-
fined values.
Task 3. Before working on this task 3, please read the following readings:

If f(x)= \sqrt[5]{x} , here are some transformations \sqrt[5]{x}+6 , \sqrt[5]{x}-6 , \sqrt[5]{50x}
, \sqrt[5]{x/50} of \sqrt[5]{x}
Please answer the following questions:
(i) Draw the graphs of f(x)= \sqrt[5]{x} , \sqrt[5]{x}+6 , \sqrt[5]{x}-6 , \sqrt[5]{50x} , \sqrt[5]
{x/50} of \sqrt[5]{x}
ii) Explain the above 4 transformations of \sqrt[5]{x} graphically.
iii) Write the observation on the domain and ranges of these 4 transformations of functions.

Task 4 (b) On the basis of the above scenario, answer the following questions:
(a) What do you know about even function? According to you, how can Alex determine if the
given displacement function, g(t)= \frac{10t^3}{12t^2+53} displays an even function
mathematically?
A function g(t) is even if g(-t) = g(t)
g(-t)= 10(-t) cube/12(-t)squared + 53= -10tcube/12tsquared + 53
Since g(-t) is not equal to g(t) therefore the function is not even.
(b) Explain graphically in detail how the graph g(t)= \frac{10t^3}{12t^2+53} below possesses
even symmetry or odd symmetry or neither.
