In this tutorial session, I conducted a grammar and writing activity called “Fix the The tutee made good progress in identifying and correcting
Sentence” to help my college tutee improve his skills in identifying and correcting errors in the sentences we worked on. However, there are still
basic grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors. Just like what we did last time with a few areas where more practice will help him improve,
the proofreading and editing skills, today in this tutoring session, we focused on especially with subject-verb agreement and verb tenses. I
applying those skills through sentence correction. I prepared a short list of incorrect encourage him to continue practicing these skills regularly, as
sentences that included common mistakes such as subject-verb agreement, incorrect they’re important for writing clearly and accurately. Taking his
verb tenses, missing capital letters, and punctuation errors. time to proofread each sentence carefully will help him spot
mistakes more easily.
For example, we corrected subject-verb agreement issues like:
❌ She go to class every day.
✅ She goes to class every day.

We practiced fixing incorrect verb tenses such as:

❌ He eat lunch earlier.
✅ He ate lunch earlier.

We also addressed missing capital letters:

❌ my brother is a student.
✅ My brother is a student.

And we reviewed punctuation errors like:

❌ I like reading writing and drawing
✅ I like reading, writing, and drawing.
I asked the tutee to rewrite each sentence correctly, paying close attention to proper
grammar structure and spelling. After the tutee completed the sentences, we reviewed
each one together. I explained the corrections and the rules behind them, encouraging
the tutee to ask questions and share his thoughts when unsure.
