Well, there are so many qualities that makes someone a good role model. But in my opinion, A good role
model has high moral values. Role models who support worthwhile causes and who are willing to act on
their beliefs help children develop and strengthen their own values. Role models behave ethically and
demonstrate honesty.

2. Why should children learn from role models?

A role model is a person who serves as an example by influencing others. I think, for many children, the
most important role models are their parents. When a child has a positive role model, they are likely to
engage in constructive actions like the person they look up to. Key to their development, children who
have positive role models will pick up habits and even perspectives of adults that could last a lifetime.

3. Who can influence children more, teachers or parents?

To begin with, I believe that both has a great impact with the children when it comes to
learning and the way they influence kids. Many people would agree that parents often have the
most powerful influence on a child's life, and it may have been true during our childhood as
well. However, as a child grows older and experiences a natural inclination toward independence from
his parents, teachers can wield more influence.

4. What kind of international news inspires people?

Good question. As for me, it’s always the positive news that inspired people. Good news stories from
around the world brightens our day. For instance, I am inspired to see people helping unfortunate kids
and people. Specifically in impoverished countries. It makes me believe that there is still humanity.
Outdoor Activities

1. What outdoor activities are popular in Korea?

Well, there are a lot of outdoor activities that are popular here in Korea. But the most popular activity
is hiking, which is the national pastime owing to the country's abundance of mountains and national
parks.

2. Are those people who like dangerous activities more likely to be successful?

That said, there are some real ways that taking more risks can make you more successful: Risks involve
uncertainty and change. Risk takers are more likely to be successful because they do not limit
themselves and are willing to put in their energy when every other person is hesitant. People who like
dangerous activities tend to be more confident and are not afraid of failure. This is the reason why these
risks make us more efficient and effective in some ways.

3. Do you think it is better for people to change jobs when there are new chances?

I personally believe that the changing jobs is a positive development. On the one hand, some potential
risks may occur when people decide to change their jobs. There is a risk that they might not perform
well in their new roles, or not welcomed by the other employees. However, changing a career and a
living area is an essential thing; therefore, people should study, do some researchers, analyze all of the
problems and try to mitigate the risks before they make a decision. On the other hand, it is true that
when people changed their careers and area of living, they could find some benefits. firstly, as people
changed their works, they might become more successful than in their previous careers. In certain
situations, some people might have felt that their current jobs are not in accordance with their passions.
Therefore, they prefer to change their occupations into other jobs which are more suitable for
them. Secondly, changing jobs gives them the opportunities to experience new things. They could feel
the experiences of having new friends as well. In conclusion, I personally think that changing a career or
living place is a positive development, as people could achieve higher careers in their lives and get more
experiences in their life.

It is just in our human nature to try out new things. Some people try new things just for the “fun” of it
while others like doing new things because they genuinely want to help out their fellow human beings
by discovering or inventing something completely new. Then, there is another group of people who like
to try new things simply because they are just too bored with doing the same things over and over
again. Anyway, whatever is the reason for which people like doing new things, they usually open up the
doors for new opportunities. In fact, if we didn’t like doing new things, we, as the human race, would
still be wearing leaves of trees and eating raw meats!
Disagreement

1. What do you do if you disagree with someone?

It thrives primarily upon the issue. If it is a minor alteration, I leave no stone unturned to not let it
escalate and discuss it with the person I disagree with and carry on. However, if it’s something vital, I
take the opinion of my family and friends to make informed decisions.

2. How can we stop an argument from escalating into a fight?

I think we just need to be calm and rational. I think the best way to de-escalate situations is to give them
time. We always make wrong decisions when we don’t give issues time. I also try to involve a neutral
person and ask them for advice.

3. Who do you think should teach children to respect their teacher?

I think both parents and teachers have the responsibility of teaching children. However, I think such
things are not taught but rather learnt by observing others. Children pick up a lot of things by watching
their parents and so it is absolutely important that parents behave appropriately in front of them.

4. What disagreements do parents and children usually have?

In my opinion, children are most likely to disagree their parents on for several reasons such as watching
TV, playing and the use of the internet. For example, most of the parents try to prevent their children on
spending their time on internet. On the contrary, the internet has been more and more important for
every child.
PROBLEM WHILE SHOPPING ONLINE OR IN A STORE

1. What kind of customer service do you think is good?

The key to good customer service is building good relationships with your customers. Thanking the
customer and promoting a positive, helpful and friendly environment will ensure they leave with a great
impression. A happy customer will return often and is likely to spend more. Most significantly,
businesses should keep their promises and adhere to their verbal commitments. For instance,
businesses who claim one-day setup should make sure that the task is finished in one day. Additionally,
if the goods or services don't live up to the mark that was stated, the businesses involved should
acknowledge their error. And they should extend an apology, and make amends to the clients.

2. What are the differences between shopping online and in-store?

The main difference between online shopping and traditional shopping is that online shopping is very
convenient as you can shop anytime, anywhere while traditional shopping can be time-consuming, but
allows you to actually see and touch the products you are buying. Although we usually associate
shopping with going to a shop and making a purchase (we call this traditional shopping), online shopping
is rapidly becoming popular all over the world. However, each has its own pros and cons. Let me tell you
some pros and cons of online shopping. First off, Customers has the ability to compare prices and find
the items that fit their budget when it comes to online shopping but the disadvantage is that customers
don’t have the chance to physically see or touch the items they order; sometimes, what they see in
product advertisement may be completely different from the product that is delivered to them. Lastly,
the main advantage of traditional shopping is that customers are actually able to see what they are
buying before they make the payment. If they are purchasing a garment or shoes, they can also try them
on. Moreover, customers can also take the items home with them on the same day, unlike in online
shopping. This is essential in buying day-to-day essentials like groceries however Shops are not open on
certain hours and certain days, so there’s a restrain on time.

Customers face various challenges during shopping time. Sometimes they cannot find the product they
really need. For instance, there are no more color options, size problems and goods quality problems.to
add to it, sometimes they might have to deal with crowded areas or low-quality services.

4. What do you think customers should do when there are problems with products bought online?

Companies provide many options for customers if they have any problem with the product. First,
customers can directly connect with the customer care team or return the defective product. Another
thing is they can simply write an email to the company and complain about the product. Lastly, they can
also claim a return policy or refund if they get any wrong or defective items.

1. Do young people like to do sports?

I think it’s like 50-50 nowadays. There are still a lot of young people who are still into sports. These
young people are usually energetic and they love hanging out with their peers. They are usually into
basketball, soccer and or running. But there’s also some young people who are quite like lazy. They
don’t want to moved around and they just wanted to stay at home, play computer games and watch
movies.

2. What are the benefits of sports for children?

Playing sports is important for children for a number of reasons. Firstly, children learn social skills that
will be important in all aspects of their life as they grow up. For example, they learn how to
communicate effectively, and develop teamwork skills. In addition, they learn self-discipline through
sports, such as the ability to set goals and achieve difficult tasks.

3. Is it necessary to build public sports spaces?

Sports facilities as well as parks help to reduce the stress level of citizens. It is known that
spending time with nature positively influences a person’s mood and it is a great way to recharge
our batteries. For example, personally I am always relaxed and happy when I go for a walk to a
park. Additionally, work out grounds encourage people to do exercise and do sports. Taking into
account a growing number of overweight people, the availability of free sports facilities is
becoming highly important. This is because some people are not able to purchase an expensive
membership to a sports club and street sports facilities may be a great alternative for it. In
conclusion, I completely agree with this because they play a significant role in human health and
well-being.

4. What do you think of companies donating sports venues for poor children?

Well I think this would be very beneficial and helpful for the children’s physical health and for
their personal development. As we all know poor children doesn’t have enough money to go to
the gym or private sports venues to experience these kinds of things. Therefore, free sports
venues could greatly help disadvantage kids to improve their physical development.
Interesting Novel/Story

1. How does technology help people tell stories?

The way we communicate with others has changed drastically over time. Storytelling originated with
visual stories, such as cave drawings, and then shifted to oral traditions, in which stories were passed
down from generation to generation by word of mouth. There was then a shift to words formed into
narratives, including written, printed and typed stories. Due to the use of advancing technologies such
as the printing press, the camera and the internet and its social media platforms, the way we tell others
stories and keep ourselves informed about current topics has shifted to a more all-encompassing
experience. Technology has allowed humans to utilize all forms of storytelling through the years: visual
stories in photographs, spoken stories in videos and recordings and written words on blogs and statuses.

2. Do you prefer to read e-books or printed books?

Nowadays, some people prefer to read e-books instead of reading printed books. In my opinion, reading
e-books is more advantageous than reading paper-based books. Firstly, if you prefer to read on your
mobile devices, laptops or other hand-held devices, you can read books everywhere. Moreover, you do
not have to carry books in your bag. Secondly, some publishing companies have not chosen to publish
the paper based recently because they think the production of paperback books is more expensive than
the e-book version. Therefore, the prices of e-books are cheaper than the price of paper books. Finally,
e-books are easier to purchase and with the facility of online purchase, anyone gets an eBook whenever
s/he wants. Furthermore, I would argue that day today the popularity of e-books will increase.

3. Why are mystery novels so popular nowadays?

In my opinion, these kinds of novels can stimulate the thinking of readers. The storylines of this kind are
mysterious and they can keep our brain active. Unlike romantic stories, the climaxes and endings are
unpredictable. Also, people will be more conscious about what is happening around them and thus
manage to keep themselves safe. A mystery story allows the reader to experience danger, suspense and
fear while seated in a nice safe armchair. In conclusion, the popularity of crime thrillers can be attituded
to human’s natural curiosity.

4. What kinds of novels are suitable for film adaptation?

I am no movie critique – I just watch them. The same holds "true" when I read a book. Therefore, asking
a complete layman person like me, with no movie or book reviewing skills, is like asking someone to find
some treasures from underneath an ocean who can barely swim. Still, I will go ahead and try to do some
justice to this topic without sounding like a fool. One of the most important things to consider when
creating a good book adaptation for many people is accuracy to the book itself. After all, a book must
have a certain level of popularity to be adapted to screen in the first place, and fans of the book will
want to see that story told in film, rather than anything else There is also nothing quite like the crushing
disappointment of seeing a book you love be ruined by a bad movie adaptation.

1. Why do people learn foreign language?

In the last few years, globalization left a huge impact on the economy of all nations and promoted the
growth of multinational companies. Therefore, the rise in the number of people working overseas
resulted in an increase in the demand for learning a foreign language. In addition, people need to learn
foreign language if they want to travel to overseas countries. For example, if people want to visit a
foreign country, they have to learn basic conversations in the local language to communicate with native
speakers in daily life. Nonetheless, traveling or working is not the only reasons why some people learn
foreign languages. People need a foreign language for their studies. Many academic programs make
learning a foreign language compulsory. When students learn a foreign language, they can understand
and appreciate diverse cultures. People learn new languages for job purposes as well. For instance,
many professional jobs in the UK and Australia require IELTS or TOEIC certification. Some learn
languages because they love it. In conclusion, the number of people learning a foreign language has
increased dramatically. There are several reasons for this. While some of these are work or travel
related, others are purely personal or recreational in nature.

First and most important quality of good foreign language teacher is a balance of talk time and listening
time – the student must have a chance to practice and demonstrate what they what her or she learned
and not only in speaking modules, but also writing, reading and listening. Second a good tutor helps you
to realize your strengths and weaknesses, encourages and challenges you to learn through difficulties. In
the end, you need to feel comfort, confidence, trust and improvement in what you are learning.

This is given. I totally agree that grammar is important when you are studying a foreign language.
Grammar is the building blocks of any language and necessary for us to convey what we want to say
properly. Knowledge of grammar helps the student in the correction of mistakes and improvement of
written work. A person can't learn a foreign language accurately only through a process of unconscious
assimilation. Grammar is a sure ground of reference when linguistic habits fail us. So grammar is
indispensable for the student.

Although I am not a foreign language teacher, I must say that being a foreign language teacher is
interesting. One of the many reasons is that you will be able to share your knowledge and help other
people improve. You’ll also get a chance to meet a lot of people. Being able to teach other people and
help them improve and achieve their goals is really satisfying.

Parents are models. Children learn things that their parents try to teach them, such as how to count
numbers. Children also learn things just by watching their parents and copying. They learn so many
things from their parents. Simple things like table manners, courteous conversations, being punctual,
and generosity are all habits that can stick with your young one for their whole life. Children who learn
social etiquette from their parents are already ahead for making friends and succeeding in life.

Yes, I think parents are responsible for their children’s behavior to a large extent. However, they are not
the only ones responsible for their children’s behavior, it also depends upon other factors like media and
their friends and teachers. There are also some kids who were born really quiet and well-behaved. In
conclusion, proper upbringing and positive environment can help children grow up properly.

3. Is it necessary for adults to learn new things?

Yes, I think life would be boring if people stopped learning. Moreover, today life is changing so fast, that
it is paramount to learn new things to survive. I work in a school. During covid times, when classroom
education was not possible, I had to learn and teach through Zoom. If I didn’t, I would have lost my job.

Well, there are traditional methods of learning new things like joining classes or asking a friend or
relative to guide us or reading do it yourself books. Then, there are the modern methods like watching
YouTube channels or searching on google. There has never been a better time to learn something new
than today.

1. How can people search for information now?

I believe that smartphones or computers are the best option for looking up information anywhere and
at any time. They just have to type a few words in the google search engine and within milliseconds they
can get hundreds of documents and videos about the information they are looking for.

2. What information can people get from television?

Although television is mainly considered an entertainment unit or sometimes also called an idiot box, I
believe that if people watch the right channels, they can learn a lot about the world and increase their
general knowledge by watching television.

3. Do you think libraries are still important in the digital age?

Yes, I feel that libraries still have an important role to play in our society. Apart from access to thousands
of great books at the same time, libraries also provide a studious and focused environment for reading
which is hard to replicate elsewhere.

4. Does the development of the Internet have any impact on some disadvantaged people?
Yes, technologies such as Internet have definitely helped the disadvantaged, especially those from
weaker economic backgrounds. It has allowed them to learn new things for free and also created
opportunities for them to earn more money by being able to reach more customers.
For example, a small-time taxi driver who could get only a few customers from a particular location/
stand only can now ferry more customers in a day, and that too from any location because of mobility
apps like uber.
Describe a place in your country

1. Is it important to take photos while travelling?

Of course. This is how we document and keep our happy memories that we want to remember. A photo
will help you in remembering all the vivid details even after years and they would take you back down
the memory lane. It is a beautiful feeling to see a particular place through a picture when you actually
haven’t visited that place in years. With the passage of time, your memory about certain places and
events weakens so you need to rely on photos to recall each and everything.

2. Can you trust other people’s travel journals on the internet?

Well, I am skeptical about some of the information that I get from the internet. As you know, there’s
what we call expectation vs. reality and also some of these journals might be exaggerated. However,
modern travelers’ decision to undertake a vacation or trip is influenced mostly by recommendations of
friends and relatives, online recommendations as well as comments and to some extent information
given by a third party.

Well, it depends where the country is. It Is undeniable that seeing a distinct landscape is breathtaking, I
still have to consider where the location is. Travelling requires a lot of energy, time and money so going
to a foreign country would be burdensome but at the same time travelling is always fun. My point is
that, if I really like the country and the landscape I shouldn’t miss it.

1. Where do people normally watch movies?

I think prior to the pandemic most people used to go to cinemas to enjoy the movies and films especially
Hollywood movies. However, because of corona, we had to stay at home for a long time and most of the
cinemas around the world had to close so some people choose to watch movies at home with their
families instead of going out. The good thing is that there are a lot of OTT platforms such as Netflix,
Disney+, YouTube and a lot more that we can use to watch movies.

2. What’s the difference between watching a movie at home and watching it in the cinema?
There are many differences between watching a movie at home and in the cinema hall. When you watch
a movie at home, it saves your money and time. You can do some multitasking and also you can change
channels if you don’t like a movie.
In the cinema hall, you enjoy a movie on the big screen, which makes all the difference especially in
action movies. You enjoy the company of your friends and family and you also enjoy the refreshments in
the interval.

Well, I think it is helpful for a movie to have a famous actor or actress play in it, because this is likely to
attract more attention and publicity for the movie, which, in most cases, benefits the box office sales.
But I believe that the success of a movie depends on other factors too, including an engaging movie plot;
impressive visual and sound effects or even good timing.

4. Why are there fewer people going to the cinema to watch movies nowadays?

It is true that cinemas have not been attracting much public these days. There could be several reasons
for this trend and to change this it is necessary to take some measures to make cinemas attractive again.
There are various reasons why people are not going to the cinema as much lately. One of the reasons is
the easy access to the internet and the availability of thousands of movies to be downloaded. If one can
watch a movie for free at home, it is hard to find a motivation to pay for it at the cinema. Another
reason is that the price of the tickets has increased significantly. It is undeniable that the recent
advances in technology have improved the experience of watching a movie in several ways. However,
cinemas need to find better solutions to manage the costs of this new technology without overcharging
the customers.

Some measures are quite simple to put in place and can make a huge difference in the attendance
numbers. For example, the creation of promotions that reduce the price of the ticket on specific days of
the week or give a discount to loyal customers. Another action that could be taken is to promote more
the launching of a new movie. One example would be to create an event related to the theme of the

1. What programs do people like to watch in your country?

Korea is a diverse country, and it is very hard to generalize what people like to watch. People like to
watch news, soaps, dramas, comedy shows, reality shows, and sports. It really depends upon the
person. I personally like to watch news, entertainment shows, and game shows.

2. Do people in your country like to watch foreign TV programs?

I think it depends. But I would say a lot of Korean people watch American TV programs and series that
can be watched on Netflix. One of the reasons is that a lot of people in here really wanted to improve
their English language. This is a very helpful method to someone like me wants to improve my English
skills.

3. What are the benefits of letting kids watch animal videos than visiting zoos?

I think there are several benefits. Letting kids watch animal videos for example in National Geographic
Channel would be beneficial for them. Not only they can see animals just like what they do in zoos they
can also learn how animals live, die and survive. How animals became extinct and how dangerous some
animals are. These kinds of videos are very beneficial for the kids so that they will be well-informed
about animals when they visit zoos.

Yes. But not all for sure. Videos engage students of all ages and abilities. Video has a huge advantage
over reading texts, writing activities and listening exercises in that it’s instantly engaging. Students
young and old are attracted to video and many even see them as a treat when used in class. Once the
students are interested in the content, they will be ready to learn and be receptive to the activities you
have planned.
Plastic Waste

1. Do you think we should use plastic product?

No, I don’t think that usage of plastic products should be encouraged. Every day in the newspaper we
read about how plastics are destroying our planet, and there is not much we can do about it except
prohibit their usage. Most of the plastic waste cannot be recycled and ends up in landfills or is dumped
in the sea.

2. How can we reduce our use of plastic?

There are many simple everyday things that we can do to reduce our plastic consumption. For example,
people can always carry a steel water bottle with them so that they don’t have to buy a plastic one.
Another thing that people can do is to use jute or any other cloth bags for carrying goods from grocery
stores.

3. What kinds of plastic waste are often seen in your country?

The most common plastic waste in my country would definitely be the plastic bags that people use for
grocery shopping. The plastic water or soft drink bottles take the second spot.

4. Why do people like to use plastic products?

I think there are two main reasons behind it. One is that plastic is more convenient as it doesn’t get
damaged easily and keeps the goods safe and dry. Secondly, plastic is cheaper as compared to metal or
other alternatives.

1. Why do people rarely use cash now?

Firstly, technology has upgraded the habits of consumers as these days; they like to pay through digital
modes rather than cash. It is easy for them as they do not have to take the cash along with them which
saves them from theft and criminals. Moreover, one can easily pay their bills and do online shopping just
sitting at home by using their credit cards. This moneyless society has made purchases so effortless that
a person need not to go anywhere for doing all these transactions.

2. When do children begin to comprehend the value of money?

This depends on the parents as always. However, as early as 6-7 children should learn the value of
money. Many parents believe that their children should learn the importance of money at a young age. I
agree with them since learning the value of money would stop children from overspending. It is
essential to teach children the value of money to stop them from overspending. This helps
them understand how much hard work their parents do to pay their fees, and to buy them things they
need. To conclude, it is essential for young people to know the importance of money so that they do not
waste it on unnecessary thing but save it for future.

If it’s something like getting good grades in school, I think it’s a good way to encourage children to
improve themselves. People tend to work harder when there is a good reward or motivation. But this
shouldn’t happen all the time because the children might think that every time, they do things they
should be paid.

4. Is it good and necessary to teach children to save money?

Yes of course. Saving is something every kid should do. It lets you buy items that otherwise might be out
of reach, keeps you out of financial trouble and makes you more independent. Often, it means you can
do more, as you have more choices or get additional cash. Subsequently, you can feel happier. Money is
difficult to manage, save and earn. It's important to teach children to save money in their early years so
they learn to value it.
The person who loves to grow plants

1. Are there many people growing their own vegetables now?

Well, I would say it depends; this may vary from the geographical location. You know, for people in the
suburbs they most likely grow their own crops because they have a wide space like a barn or a
plantation to grow their plants. What’s more, this can ensure the quality of food is fresh especially
vegetables and fruits like cabbage, carrots and strawberries. Another reason is that, they make this as a
primary source of income, they sell their products on public market in town. Basically, this is where most
people make money.

2. Do you think it’s good to let kids learn how to plant?

I think it’s quite good to let kids learn how to plant. But most of the people are living in the city now they
are more exposed to technologies such as smartphones and other electronic devices. Most of the
children nowadays are isolated to the nature. By teaching them about planting is helpful for them get
close to nature. It can also make them appreciate life. Working together on your garden with your
children is togetherness time. You build bonds with children and create memories from your
experiences in the garden. While your children are learning a lifelong love of growing things, you are
learning more about your children—how they think, what they like and dislike and how capable they
really are. Your plants can create a beautiful environment, whether they are in a garden, a raised bed or
a pot, and you and your children will enjoy every stage of the process.

The job of a farmer is the oldest job in fact people started doing agriculture and animal husbandry in the
beginning of civilization so I think a job of a farmer is very important. They provide us food and they play
an important role in a country z economy so the job of a farmer is an extremely important job.

4. What are the differences between traditional and modern agriculture?

Traditional agriculture was all about organic materials used in agriculture and all the equipment’s where
also traditionally made while modern agriculture is machine-based agriculture where everything is done
with machines and lot of fertilizers and chemicals and pesticides are used in modern agriculture at some
scale it is good for huge quantities but it also has some adverse effects on health so this is the difference
between modern and traditional agriculture.
Person who likes to dress fashionably well

1. Do you think online shopping will replace in-store shopping in the future? Why?

Well, chances that in-store shopping will entirely disappear are slim. The thing is no matter how popular
online shopping will be, there will always be some items that shoppers simply won’t countenance
buying online. For example, I don’t doubt that more and more people will buy things that are mass-
produced online as they are exactly the same no matter where you purchase them. So you don’t need to
personally inspect these items to know if they are what you are really looking for. However, many
people are likely to continue doing shopping in a traditional way when it comes to shopping for clothes
as, in most cases, it is necessary to try them on before buying. Otherwise, people risk wasting a lot of
time sending stuff back.

2. Why is fashion very important to some people?

It's just another medium to express yourself, wear things of high quality that feel very comfortable to
wear or are extremely durable and timeless, and sort of define your image and control it. People are
going to judge you regardless; you may as well be partially in control of that judgment. That doesn't
mean you have to dress well, you can dress like a bum if you want, I certainly do sometimes. But at least
it's my liberty to make that decision for myself that I find valuable.

Other reasons include respect. If you're meeting your girlfriends’ parents for the first time you should
probably dress for the occasion. Or going to a metal concert, or for ice cream, or to the bank to get a
loan. Appropriate dressing is our uniform for a well-received life.

I think the difference between clothes that young and old people wear is because they have different
mindsets and different priorities.

top for girls and jeans revealing underwear for boys; as maybe in movies and advertising, there is an
explosion of sexual imagery targeted to an ever-younger audience. Young people wear these clothes to

Meanwhile, middle-aged and older people are more conservative when it comes to choosing their

It depends. It is a matter of personal choice and preferences. Every individual has a different take on
fashion. Men and women are equally fond of/not fond of latest trend and fashion. More or less ratio is
equal. It also depends on their economic status what they can afford. If they can bear the expense of being
fashionable as per the latest trend, they definitely will do it. So, there are many factors that decide who is
fashionable and who is not. It has nothing to do with men and women.

1. How do people who are busy remember things they need to do?

Nowadays, most of people are suffering from the problem that they forget the important dates and
things because of their hectic schedule. So, reminders are the best solution for it. People can set
reminders on their tablets, phones and computers. As for me, I set the alarm for an all-important task
like birth dates. anniversaries and regular duties. Modern technology helps us to keep good memories.
Through the advance technology. we can set a reminder for special events. We can use mobile phone
and cameras to capture special moments. and this is possible because of advanced technology.

2. Do you think people should remember family history?

Some people feel that it makes great sense to research one’s family background. Others, however,
oppose this view. In their opinion, we should concentrate more on the present and future generations.
In my opinion, it depends upon the individual. If one really wants to know about one’s ancestors, I see
no harm in researching one’s family history. Studying one’s family history is also a great way to discover
the culture and traditions of one’s family. This research may help people stay rooted in their culture.
What’s more, people feel proud when they discover that their family had a glorious history.

On the flip side, not everyone is fortunate enough to have a glorious family history. Some people
therefore feel that researching one’s family history may reveal embarrassing or disturbing information
about one’s ancestors. In their opinion, our present is far more important than our past. So, they opine
that instead of wasting time on family research, we should focus on the present and future. After all, the
past is past and there is nothing we can do about it. Therefore, it makes greater sense to focus on our
future.

3. If someone doesn’t really like whom they are going to meet, they may deliberately miss their
appointment. Is that true? Why?

To be honest, I think sometimes this happens. I think there are times that if a person doesn’t really like
the person whom they are going to meet they will stand them up and make up an excuse. It might give
us stress or anxiety but I think normally people will still show up to their appointment because it is a
basic social norm or manner. No matter how we hate or don’t like meeting someone up if we already
made an appointment then we should be there to show respect to people otherwise you may look like
rude if you don’t. In conclusion, if you really don’t want to meet that person then do not make an
appointment in the first place.

4. Which is more important, a work-related appointment or an appointment with a friend? Why?

I think both of these two are important. But for me, work related appointment is more important. Why
because this is how we earn. We need our job to earn money, to get promoted and to live. We should
be responsible to finish all our task in the office before we end our day. On the other hand, we can ask
for an understanding to our friends and make up to them. In any ways, we should be responsible to any
appointments that we make.

1. Where and how can we get to know people of different cultures better?
I think social platforms such as Facebook, Reddit, and Instagram are great ways to interact/connect with
people from different cultures. Here people from different cultures can discuss like-minded ideas and
interests. However, the traditional way to learn about a different culture would be to read books related
to it, watch movies, or may be travel to that place.

2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of cultural diversity?

If I talk about advantages, cultural diversity makes our world more interesting. If there was only one
culture in the world, it would have been a really boring place. Cultural diversity acts as a change that
makes people curious about each other. Also, people get to learn a lot from each other’s cultures.
However, from a disadvantage point of view, cultural diversity can sometimes create a divide amongst
people. People of one culture might believe themselves to be superior as compared to others and it can
lead to hate and difference among them.

3. How can traditionally culture and other cultures coexist?

For different cultures to co-exist together, especially traditional and modern, it requires a lot of effort
from the members of the society. Followers of both cultures should show respect and understanding for
each other and should not indulge in any activities that could hurt each other’s sentiments. Also, I feel
that the generation gap plays a huge role in traditional and modern culture, and narrowing it down can
help both cultures to co-exist peacefully.

4. Which Korean traditions are disappearing?

I am not a person who is much into following traditions and cultures. However, I also don’t think that
Korean traditions are disappearing, in fact, I feel that with the help of Internet and social media,
youngsters in Korea are becoming more aware of their customs and traditions. My family members,
relatives, and neighbors still follow the same old traditions which they used to 10-20 years ago.

1. Why do some people like to record important things with photos?

I think photographs are one of the best ways to keep past memories alive. Whenever we look at
photographs, we cannot help but remember the events and people that happened during that time.
Also, photographs are one of the best ways to share our experiences with others. It is rightly said, a
picture is worth a thousand words.

2. What can people learn from historical photographs?

The main thing people can learn from photos is the successes and failures of our ancestors. On the one
hand, photographs are a living proof of human ingenuity and progress and on the other hand, they also
show how and where we failed. For example, photos of rich forests in the past at places occupied by
modern high-rise buildings show our architectural achievement but at the same time show how we
sacrificed our environment to achieve the same.

3. Are photographs the best way to remember something?

Undoubtedly yes, photographs are the best medium to recall something from the past. Taking photos
can help us remember life moments more accurately since our memories are fallible. For example, the
human brain is not a storage device where we can save all our memories. After a few years, Even human
beings may forget that special moment, but if it is saved in the camera, then it helps to remember that
place, people, feeling, emotion and so on.

4. Which is better, taking photos or keeping a diary?

Well, I often take photos in my daily life and have a habit of keeping diaries. I think these are good
methods of recording my experiences. There are several reasons I’d like to point out.
Firstly, the vivid pictures can help me to think of my enjoyable experiences. I like taking photos and use
my camera to record every meaningful event, say a trip with my family and friends. Whenever I see
those old photos, I would lose myself in recollection.
What’s more, writing diaries is a way to express my deepest thoughts. I may not have enough time for a
diary article each day, but I can at least manage to pick a moment and write a brief note about it,
without holding back my feelings.
In a nutshell, photos are records of my appearance and diaries are portraiture of my inner feelings.

1. Do you think there are more beautiful things now than the past?
In my personal opinion, traditional art and sculptures are much more beautiful. I think in the past, it was
easier for artists to find patrons in the form of kings and nobles and they could focus on their art without
any financial worries. However, today it is much harder to earn money as an artist. The art being made
today also reflects that – it is done more as a hobby rather than as a profession and the works produced
are far behind those of the past.

2. What beautiful scenery spots are there in your country?

Yes, undoubtedly, Korea is a diverse country, and we can easily enjoy the breathtaking picturesque
views of mountains, rivers, cliffs, beaches, and many more. Add to it, Korea has rich culture and
heritage, making it unique and different from other countries. Compared with foreign countries, Korea
has more natural or mesmerizing scenic places. In contrast, in other countries, some artificial places also
look beautiful. In short, in Korea, we can enjoy a variety of activities.

3. Where do you think people usually come into contact with beautiful things?

That depends on people, I guess. There are some people who likes going to nature such as beach,
mountains and rivers. On the other hand, some people find beauty in places such as the crowded city
streets or skyscrapers. There people see beauty on the things they like. It can be people, things or
situation. In conclusion, the experience of seeing a beautiful thing can happen when a person perceives
and evaluates a stimulus for its beautiful appeal or virtues. You can experience it through vision,
hearing, touch, taste, smell and cognitive processing in response to respected stimuli.

4. Why do you think people create beautiful things?

I think we desire to create beautiful things because when we create beautiful things (or witness
beautiful things), we feel deep joy, invigorated power, and hope/optimism for life. Generally speaking,

1. Should people set goals for themselves?

For me yes. Goals are a great way to hold ourselves accountable, even if we fail. Setting goals and
working to achieving them helps us define what we truly want in life. Setting goals also helps us
prioritize things. If we choose to simply wander through life, without a goal or a plan, that's certainly our
choice. But there are plenty of people who don’t really have any big goals for the future, and that’s okay.
Many people just want to be happy with their family or job, and that’s enough for them. I guess those
are goals which most people could say they have. Everyone is different, and that’s a good thing. If
everybody wanted exactly the same things in life, it would be boring.

2. How would you define success?

Hmm, there are so many ways to define it. I believe success is feeling my life is worth living, and being a
good person to those around sue. If I have a partner, or children, or relative’s dependent on me, I would
consider it a success if I were able to provide them with a good life style and everything they need.
Success would mean my reputation as a good person travels ahead of me. It would mean I would have a
goal and hope for life, and would stand out amongst others.

3. How can we judge whether young people are successful nowadays?

Since time immemorial, people love to be successful in life. The majority of the population believe that
success depends only on owning an expensive car, living in a bungalow and generally enjoying a
sophisticated life. This may indeed be true; however, I strongly believe that there are other ways to
become a successful person. Firstly, in terms of education; passing an exam or completing a course is
considered to be successful activity. For example, if a child in grade I attained good marks in the exam,
then, it is recognized as an achievement. Secondly, success can also be achieved through work. From
layman to white collar jobs has its own dignity and respect. In other words, a person who owns a coffee
shop can be successful if he has job satisfaction and career fulfillment. Nowadays, most companies
encourage their employees by providing certificates like best employee of the month which clearly
shows success in their jobs. Finally, success can also be achieved in family life such as by raising and
supporting a family. It is often said that home is the first school and parents are the best teachers for a
child. Hence, if children are nourished in a proper way, then definitely it is recognized as a successful
parent. In conclusion, nowadays most people believe that Success sis indicated by only on wealth and
materialistic values, but in my opinion, there are many other ways to be successful.

4. Are successful people often happy?

Well, I can’t talk for all the successful people in this world, but the successful people, I have met so far
in my life, are always seemed to be projecting themselves as some “happy people”. Of course, there is a
very good reason to believe that the “parameters of success” for these people probably differ from each
other rather significantly, but that in no way should be considered an obstacle to being truly happy and
content. So, finally, I would like to say that successful people are not always happy people but all of us
should try to be happy no matter if society considers us successful or not.

1. What do people in your country often do while waiting?

Nowadays most people spend time scrolling through social media applications on their phones while
they are waiting for something. People like to be aware of the new trends and they also find such
applications to be entertaining.

2. Why do some people like a slow-paced life?

I think some people just like to take things slow because they have a more relaxed and focused
approach towards life. Unlike others they don’t want to be in a rat race of earning more and more
money, instead, they prefer to live in the moment and discover life as it is.

3. Is being patient good for people? Why?

Yes, patience is a virtue that every person should have these days. Lot many times we see people losing
patience on simple matters and becoming angry which does not bring good for anyone. Being patient
helps people stay calm in difficult situations and stay in control of their emotions, whereas impatient
ones can easily lose emotional control and get into arguments

4. Are people less patient now than people in the past? Why?
Today’s generation is definitely less patient as compared to people in the old times. With technological
advancements, they have become accustomed to getting things instantly. For example, people can now
book flight tickets, order food, or transfer money with just the click of a button. So, when they have to
wait for something that would take more time than usual, it makes them really impatient.
Describe something you had to share with others

1. Do you think kids like to share? Why?

Yes and No. Kids are unable to fully understand the concept of “sharing”. But there are also some kids
who are naturally born greedy and they want all things especially for themselves. It is very beneficial if a
person shares things with others because, as a result, other people also help them. Children should have
this kind of habit because it is beneficial for their future, but if children do not like to share, they might
face many problems when they have grown up and work in a company. During work, employees have to
do a lot of teamwork where they have to share many things, so if they are not ready to share something,
they might face many problems.

2. How can parents teach their children to share?

It is a well-known fact that children always copy their elders or

can say they follow their elder’s footsteps. I think parents could
do this by actually making children share responsibilities and
things at home. For example, young children should be made to
share a room. Young children learn by imitating their parents. Model
good sharing behaviors, let your children see you share with them and with
other members of the family. Point out examples of other people being kind
and sharing when you go out together. The more examples your children
see, the more they will understand the concept of sharing.

3. What do you think is the benefit of sharing for children?

The biggest impact it can have on the kids is that they would be learning on how to
work in group and exchange things with others. It would keep them away from the
habit of being highly possessive about the things they own and they would learn the
lesson of humanity that good humans help each other by sharing things.

4. Is there anything that parents should persuade children to share with others?

There are actually a lot of options. For example, snacks. Children loves snacks. Sharing food helps your
child learn about compromising, taking turns and negotiating. For example, through sharing food, your
child learns that if we give a little to others, we can get some of what we want as well. Learning to share
is important for making and keeping friends and playing well with other children.

Describe a friend from your childhood

1. Do you still keep in touch with friends from your childhood? Why or why not?

Childhood friends grow into great friendships but once each has chosen their careers and future goals it
is not often that one gets to see each other due to living in different places and far off. I lost contact with
my childhood friends.

2. How important is childhood friendship to children?

I truly believe that childhood friendship can last forever since in childhood, we make friends without any
condition or selfishness. Being a child, one is innocent and thus, one is able to find friends according to
one’s liking and disliking. However, in adulthood, there are a number of factors that are responsible to
choose someone as friend, for example, appearance, status, wealth etc.

3. What do you think of communication via social media?

Social media is becoming one of the most controversial subjects around the globe nowadays. It will
allow us to connect and contact people closer than usual, which is advantageous. One of the main
benefits we can see in social media is, people are more contactable and new friends can be recognized.
The positive effect of this tends to build up a professional network among different people from various
geographical areas and professions. For instance, getting to know each other from different areas will
generate new job opportunities and they can gain knowledge regarding novice organizations. In
addition, because of social media, society is up to date since everyone can access it and the latest news
is at your fingertips. Furthermore, the younger crowd can gain the benefit of gaining knowledge about
emerging technological aspects in seconds.

4. Do you think online communication through social media will replace face-to-face communication?

In today’s fast-moving and highly connected world, social media have replaced the traditional means of
face-to-face communication. In spite of this fact, certain people argue that this phenomenon contributes
to worsening communication rather than improving it. I partly agree with this viewpoint. Although it
helps one to communicate with loved ones who are miles away, it makes a person addicted to this kind
of virtual interaction. To conclude, technology has become a double-edged sword; it allows us to
communicate with our loved ones, but overuse makes us highly dependent. In my view, individuals have
to be aware of the side effects of social networks to outweigh the disadvantages.

Describe the home of someone you know well and that you often visit
1. What are the differences between building in the city and in the countryside?

Urban areas are well planned and structured to offer more residential space for the growing population
in cities. But urban sprawl is hard to contain because it is difficult to fit the growing population into a
limited space. So, people give importance to live in the suburbs or can say the importance of suburbs is
growing. Urban living provides better standards of living with all facilities. Another difference is that
suburbs are the sizeable residential area surrounding main cities while urban regions to refer to cities’
core areas. The cost of living in urban areas is higher as compared to suburbs.

2. Do you prefer to live in the city or countryside?

As often as this question is raised, I believe it remains a tough decision to make when it comes
to choosing between living in the countryside and living in the city. Many people have been attracted to
live and work in big cities because of better employment opportunities and higher living standards. This
massive rural-to-urban migration has, however, led to an increase in environmental pollution, traffic and
social issues in urban areas. It would be a better idea for people to live in the suburb and travel into the
city to work every day so that they can enjoy the best of both worlds.

3. What safety risks are there in residential buildings?

In high-rise residential buildings, multiple factors affect safety risks and their potential impact. Some of
the most common hazards are the spread of fire, or structural failure. There may also be risks posed by
your home’s contents, such as falls, choking, cuts and burns.

4. Is it expensive to decorate a house or an apartment in the place where you live?

I don’t think so. As I’ve mentioned before, a nice house should be a place in which you are supposed to
feel most comfortable. So as long as you feel happy with it, home decoration does not mean lots of
expensive stuff. And, you know, there are even some tricks to make your house look high-end, but still
on a budget. For example, it is a great idea to paint interior doors black, which automatically add a sense
of luxury without costing much.
