“Different Class of IP
“Computer Network Set up
Address”
Guide”
IPv4 is the fourth version of the Internet Protocol and
is the most widely used IP addressing format for
devices on the internet and local networks. It is a 32-
bit address divided into four 8-bit sections (octets),
written in decimal form (192.168.1.1).

Class A (0.0.0.0 to 127.255.255.255)

Class A is used for very large networks, and the

addresses in this range are assigned to major
organizations, ISPs, and large networks.

Example: (10.0.0.1)

Class B (128.0.0.0 to 191.255.255.255)

Class B is used for medium-sized networks, typically

assigned to large businesses or universities.

addresses are not assigned to individual hosts but
are used to send data to multiple devices at once
(multicasting).

Example: (224.0.0.1)
